Thank you for this comparison video! I have 3 WP Standard Bags (2 Bedfords and 1 Vintage) and several PLG bags. I use my OS Black Zip tote from PLG as my work bag and love it because of its WIDE horizontal opening. I’m a high school teacher and I lug around a lot of stuff at school that I can easily see and locate in a minute’s notice. I love the thick black leather. Such a workhorse. But … WP Standard makes THE most beautiful, timeless leather pieces. Their bags are, in my opinion, the best in the industry. I carry my WP Standard bags as my every day purse. And you’re right … that hard bottom is perfection. Thank you for this review.
Thank you so much for all those dimensions, especially of the straps. I've been wanting a Portland Tote for a little while now, but I might have to check out the other WP company! Love how thick the leather is except for the straps. I love to get a 6-month review of how the straps wear. If you get to use it more often!
Thanks for the comparison. I only have one PLG bag and it’s a classic crossbody. I ordered that because I didn’t like the larger difference in the top when zippered. If anything , I might consider a large tote and no zipper. I’m hoping to go to their retail store in Portland in a few weeks so I’ll check them out in person. Thanks again for the comparison.
I hate hard fixed bottoms on leather purses. I feel like I'm carrying a card board box wrapped in leather. I prefer the bottom moving and molding to my body. But everyone is different. The bottoms of the PLG bags are yummy to me lol
WP Standard stinks!!!! The product looks great. I get compliments all the time. But, they advertise a lifetime guarantee and talk about how this is so well made. My tote ripped along the seam. I reached out about a repair (they claim free repairs). They refused. They claim that they only honor free repairs if it is damaged through regular use. I use the thing for shopping and it ripped on the damn seam. If that isn't covered then nothing is. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE NOT HONEST.

Not an equal comparison, as plg have other bags with flat bottoms and natural leather handles. And beautiful leather

Both are great bags but I like the aesthetic of the PLG bag better. The shape is more feminine to me but the WP might grow on me.
