    I love the umx planes and this one for me is a must. I own the 1.2 twin otter and love it as well. Have a Merry Christmas Fitz.

      I have the 1.2 this one SUCKS... No rudder no flaps by umx turbo timber and discontinued umx aero commander both better planes

    Nice video....just subscribed. Apparently putting 75% expo on the rudder works great to reduce the sensitivity of the differential thrust without losing too much authority.

    I was told if you add 75% Expo on the Rudder it's not so jerkee for ground handling and as far flight it acts like a four channel plane! It will do inverted flat spins, Hammer heads, Stall turns a lot better! Happy Flying! 😄

      @HobbyView  Рік тому

      Good advice. I personally didn't find the rudder too jerky, but I can see how some do.
      I did find that with floats it does wonderful inverted flat spins.

    These UMX planes are way too expensive IMO, especially those main circuit boards. Tinywhoops have elrs, a flight controller, a VTX, and 4 escs built into theirs, but are much cheaper. I'm not sure if it's like this with all UMX planes, but my Sport Cub S2 did not have any strain relief on the battery cable, which lead to it ripping off the board and having to resolder. This is fine if you are an experienced hobbyist, but not for a plane marketed towards beginners.

      @noddymcglade7682 Рік тому

      Yeap, the battery cable keeps coming off even with several big dollops of solder. Doesn't fly all that well either. Turbo Timber is a good plane though at only slightly more in price.

      I agree. They are nice little planes. This one flies ok but they are extremely fragile. Mine got scuffed up just from regular handling. You’d almost be better off to just put it on a mantle and you could do that cheaper with a model. Also sorry but give me a rudder over differential thrust for a plane like this all day.

    I get the sense the plane is more difficult to fly than the average UMX. I see a lot of posting on Facebook groups with otter power packages for sale or asking what the otter electronics can be put in.

    £170 for the BnF basic here in the UK which is very expensive. If it was 4/5 channel with flaps and 2s then it would still have been too expensive.

      Exactly the umx timber is far better I own most of the UMX, this is my least favorite and likely will be sold.

      Can't say I'd recommend it as a first plane, but would make a great second plane after some experience with a trainer.

    love your reviews, this Plane Just NOT do it for me, I love the aero commander, I added timber lights to my aero commander and I fly the crap out of it, but two flights on this and its in the box ready to sell, If I wanted differential thrust I would drive a TANK!!
