Looks like a forestry mulcher would be nice for clearing the landing. Maybe lease the big beast for a day after you clear the area of trees?
Looking at all the bushes and high grass and all, I think it would be good to make a nice (sand?) clearance to work on. Maybe even make some rolling hill/ditch kind of terrain to make picking up the logs easier.
Loving this series VF. Can't wait to start today on Silverrun
You should cut as much trees as you can where you want the clearing so that you have stock of wood to bring to the mill and then you can start mulching the clearing
Should hire the tractor with the chain yarder and drag all the trees to the excavator in a clearing then easier to pile up the logs
This gives me an idea...
@@VirtualFarmer the pm Felix is a good one to use and less than 12k hire
VF if you turned the processing head around 180° on the Volvo it would strip & cut as it went, rather than stripping & then cutting. This would give you a longer log at the fat end which are more valuable

I would like to see forklifts added to maps at the shop as a useable but not owned or sellable.
It is a forklift at the southern sawmill that is free to use, you dont own it, and it cant be sold
And at the mine there is a wheeloader and a rocktruck as well.

Yep, I thing so too. I add then to play throughs all the time. I love that some parts of this map come with vehicles you can use but don't own.
So I started out the same map you're on but I literally filled my log trailer up to the brim with 15 meter logs needless to say by the time I came to the first corner I flipped the entire trailer and truck guess that was the game telling me too many log lmao 🤣
When you have taken the trees and got rid of the stumps can you mulch the area to clear the brush before replanting VF?
Standard mulcher though right? As forestry mulchers leave a cultivated soil surface, rather than just cutting the grass & getting rid of the bushes

You know if you get the bigger Volvo you can get it with the processor head that'll go it'll lay flat and go up

That's Manual Attach, a PC mod.
About 31:50, you state you didn't have a tractor. Semi-haulers, or lorries, (lorrys?) Are called tractors in the US. Small fact.
Would you be able to share your side panel settings for the Volvo?

Having an issue with the new map that whenever i drop any piece of wood (no matter what size) in the lake of the old sawmill that i own, my game freezes up... I'd like to ask here if anyone knows why or what i could try to fix this
Do you have any mods or other DLC running? If you're on PC, are there any errors in the log file?
@Virtual Farmer i do have other mods and dlc active but it never made any conflicts and i don't know how to access my logs
Ok. Try using the old sawmill with no other DLC or mods active. If that works you have a conflict.
You can find the log here: "my documents/my games/farming simulator 2022/log.txt". Search that file and see if you have any lines starting with "Error"
I had this problem and it was the Log Splitter / Processor Machine Mod that would freeze the game up. No idea why but once I deleted it I've not had a problem.
yoo..the short standard planks....I have multiple empy pallets there, but no short planks on them....any ideas???
