Works for me as well - set stick to analog as stated and bind to "Joystick slider x". If it's difficult to find from "search by input", go to "Elevator Trim axis (-100 to 100%)", click the cogwheel and select "Joystick slider x" in the list of binding alternatives to the left.
@@Huddison Hello, Thank you for this excellent video! The dead zone for the H2 hat switch has helped a lot! After a lot of experimenting I have been lucky to get the trim-wheel working (on PC, but I think it will work also on XBox). This is how: 1) In the Flightstick menu (the screen on the joystick itself, by moving the grey ring at the bottom of the joystick): set the trim-wheel response as digital buttons (not analogue axis). 2) Then in FS2024 controls menu, assign the button 13 (to elevator trim down) 3) The most important thing: click on the "cog" icon for elevator trim down and make sure that you check the mark for "INPUT REPETITION" 4) Do the same as steps 2 and 3 for button 14 (assing to elevator trim UP and make sure that you check the mark for "INPUT REPETITION") I hope it works for all of you 🙂
Before I even watch this.... Thank you in advance. I had decided to wait for this very video, having used your velocity one set-up in MSFS20. I'm very happily surprised to see this drop so soon. Much appreciated from a fellow Huddy :)!!!
Same 😂 I lost the will to live with the 2024 v1fs default settings and played a few times (once I got in) on controller only. If only Microsoft had a cloud platform we could import old 2020 settings from 😉
Well, it looks like the battle between Microsoft and Velocity One. I was on the phone yesterday with both companies. Neither wants to accept responsibility for the problem with the reversed elevator problem. We tried everything we could think of to no avail. So no we just sit and wait for the team that will accept responsibility and fix it.
@@Huddison thanks for all you do but we need the xbox configuration for the alpha xpc and the bravo since msfs2024 as it as 1 unit. The xbox community is waiting. There’s nothing online.

Thankyou - that solved all of my problems, particularly the drift in cockpit camera. Trim works well when setup as an axis and with AI Trim disabled in the assists tab.
I’d say dedicated trim axis do work in a sense, I can move elevator trim in proper direction (had to invert it too). The problem is, it is very imprecise and occasionally I have very big values, may be related to AP on and off. I will try to assign a couple of buttons instead. Overall, very useful video, I did resolve all major problems, like drift and inverted axis too, but it definitely took me much more time. Other than that, using left hat for AP is not bad, but it seems that nothing is left to control views (instrument, landing, custom etc..), cursor and menus like communications. Do you handle all that via gamepad (or mouse which I do not have currently)? Regarding custom profile - you can make it default, but on my XSX after loading the game it still reverts to original settings and I have to reassign it. I am even under impression, that occasionally it happens when you switch planes, for example by going to career mode. Looking forward to see your advanced settings.
@@TheVKolosov I did experience the same sudden increase of trim. However I did find that it would eventually settle and level out. Having said that it does need to be fixed. @huddison THANKS for this video, I'm on series X and this has helped a lot. FYI i noticed that there is a controller icon now in the 2024 quick access menu in game, just click the active pause then controller icon and get instant access to the remapping page without going in and out of the main settings page 👍 also, that cockpit free look drift problem also seems to happen with the regular controller, not only the V1FS, which is just baffling lack of testing on the xbox version. Kind of weird that they had the xbox insiders beta programme for 2020, but didn't do a preview build for 2024 🤔

A bit off topic, but on the V1 yoke the trim wheel doesn’t register in the settings but it works in planes. It’s inverted in some and normal in others, but it works.
Some ideas. The b10 button (the big grey button in front of the stick) can be used to trigger secondary commands. Example. I use the hat 1 for Trims. With the b10 triggered its 4 different personnalised camera. B17 and b16, have 2 other commands when the b10 is triggered. Same with all buttons under my left hand. It gives so many commands. And on the tarmac, my b10 is my brake.
Good Day, Huddison, thanks again for another great video. If I remember correctly, a while back you did one on how to set up the Reverse Thrusters on the Velocity One Yoke for MSFS 2020. Please, if you can, create a video on how to set up reverse thrusters on the Velocity One Yoke for MSFS 2024! I did try, but to no avail. Thank You.
Would love some advice on toggling avionics in the Cessna. So far, no luck when binding to any button on the velocity one flight yoke or throttle quadrant😢
My Flight stick only has 5 axis for some reason. I’m new to sim so I wish I knew more details. But even in setting it only shows that I have 5 axis, not sure how to fix this. Flight stick is brand new
I’m assuming you checked that trimming isn’t activated in the assistance menu. I would really like some help with getting the mouse to pan around in the cockpit. A lot of us are having problems with that.
Thanks so much for the video! My trim wheel was working fine (Xbox Series X) so didn't need to change that. One thing I'm not liking with the stick, compared to MSFS2020 is the amount of what appears to be "dead zone" on the pitch and roll axes. It seems like it takes a bit more for the game to "do anything" once you start moving, while the 2020 was responding to commands straight away. Are you encountering that issue? Any idea how to fix it? (the dead zone sensitivity is already at 0 on those axes) Thanks again!
Very useful video even though I'm not on the V1 its still interesting to see how you set your controls up 👍 I assume you log them all down on a crib sheet for use during flights. If definitely struggle to remember some of them lol I may go back and delete my current profiles and start afresh in case there's any conflicts i'm but aware of.
When I go into hardware as you did in the video you have 'Joystick Axis 1/2/3/4/5 etc' where as I dont I have 'Joystick LAxis X/Y/Z' 'Joystick RAxis X/Y/Z' and everything is inverted
Great, thanks for sharing. I have the same stick, but finding I have an issue with reverse thrust. It would normally be on the throttle, just throttle back and then click and it hits reverse thrust. How though, it doesn't seem to be as effective. It clicks, reverse starts, but no amount of power can be set. I hope that makes sense!
Great video, thanks so much for this but I do have a question as I have only just bought this stick. When I go to filters to see what's assigned as default I see some buttons like 21, 24,25, 26 etc but I have no idea where those buttons are on the V1 stick. How do I find out?
Not sure if it just got patched but my trim wheel seems to be working. Have to invert it like most of the others but otherwise works. I didn't do anything strange to get it working
@@Huddison I'll also note that two days ago my V1 flight yoke throttle quadrant wasn't working but today it's responding to input so maybe they patched it up
I'm baffled trying to get a zoom function working for cockpit and external views, I guess I'll search zoom as the options I find in the camera section don't seem to work for me
Having problems with the plane drifting. Is this an issue with the game controller or something with the flight stick? It's driving me mad this problem. I tried the dead zones on flight stick but even if i unplug the flight stick i think it could be a controller setting issue. Any suggestions on problem solving this issue?\
I have managed to get trim wheel working. Set V1 to digital buttons and bind them in the sim to Elevator Trim Down (nose down) - Joystick button 13 (and trim up to JB 14). It moves the trim wheel fairly slowly so a fair bit of thumb scrolling is needed when adjusting! Re: H2 button for looking around - when I set this, I lose freelook on Mouse RB. Did you find the same?
@ Aah, PC. The V1 was already set to digital buttons and when I bound them using scan input, I just scrolled the wheel one notch in the direction I wanted - if that makes sense?
Can somebody help me? I have the v1 and an xbox controller, how do i navigate inside the hardware settings? I can't set a deadzone on axis 7. I bought this game as an introduction to sim flying and am already getting pretty sick of this. How can microsoft make such a huge misstake? A mouse doesn't belong in console gaming, how do i even connect one with the v1 in the only usb port on my x?
Do you have a solution to the elevator not slowly pitching up or down but rather if the stick is set back even a bit it pitches the aircraft up fully. In your video when you tested the elevator your yoke slowly moves up or down unlike mine.

(the dead zone sensitivity is already at 0 on those axes)
Thanks again!
It felt similar to FS2020 with my testing; it's very much a personal preference thing though.
Very useful video even though I'm not on the V1 its still interesting to see how you set your controls up 👍 I assume you log them all down on a crib sheet for use during flights. If definitely struggle to remember some of them lol
I may go back and delete my current profiles and start afresh in case there's any conflicts i'm but aware of.
I typically fly with them a few times to memorise them; or select/search each button & axis to see what's bound where.
When I go into hardware as you did in the video you have 'Joystick Axis 1/2/3/4/5 etc' where as I dont I have 'Joystick LAxis X/Y/Z' 'Joystick RAxis X/Y/Z' and everything is inverted
Search by input to see what axis they are set to.
Hallelujah! Thank you my brother ✌️❤️💯🤗
You are so welcome
Thanks man tomorrow i will try to aolve drifting of camera, my Q, anybflaps setting
Thanks❤❤❤
I did set up some flaps in the video.
Should be a simple setting - come and ask in our Discord (link in description).
Great video, thanks so much for this but I do have a question as I have only just bought this stick.
When I go to filters to see what's assigned as default I see some buttons like 21, 24,25, 26 etc but I have no idea where those buttons are on the V1 stick. How do I find out?
Search by Input and click each button to see what is what.
i got my new velocityone just today and the trim works fine...
Great to hear.
Hello James, could you please do a video on the Hotas One throttle quadrant and joystick settings for MSF's 2024... thanks.
Charles..
Not sure if it just got patched but my trim wheel seems to be working. Have to invert it like most of the others but otherwise works. I didn't do anything strange to get it working
I'll recheck.
@@Huddison I'll also note that two days ago my V1 flight yoke throttle quadrant wasn't working but today it's responding to input so maybe they patched it up
Did you have a problem with the plane banking left when first flying? Is it a problem with the stick or controller settings? It's driving me mad!
Thanks for this one :)
You are highly welcome :)
Trim wheel is working for me on my VelocityOne Flightstick. I am playing on xbox series x though.
Great video. Helps a lot. How do you get the dust and environment affects to show on the Xbox?
I don't know; I mean Manchester can be grubby at times - but that is a slight over exaggeration ;)
I'm baffled trying to get a zoom function working for cockpit and external views, I guess I'll search zoom as the options I find in the camera section don't seem to work for me
Does anyone know how what change I need to make to stop my aircraft veering to the left down the runway? Using the same V1 on XBOX
They need to sweep that runway lol.. even the stairs don't want to stay on it 😅
It is surprisingly mucky ;)
You legend...thank you
Sir can we have one helicopter setup video for the velocity one flightstick?
Very helpful
Using it on Digital Trim: it displayed the same button/binding for me on both Nose up/down. Did you set yours up on PC or Xbox?
@ Aah, PC. The V1 was already set to digital buttons and when I bound them using scan input, I just scrolled the wheel one notch in the direction I wanted - if that makes sense?
Use Flightstick trim in analog mode by assigning elevator trim axis to “Joystick Slider X”
trim is not working for me with joystick, only works with button...please help me guys
Buttons work well enough with it
Could you do the velocity one yoke next? I am having a really hard time with the new, overly complicated setting options
Restarting the flight can often help with that.
Set mine up. Worked for 3 days then suddenly today half the controls reset??
Really? :( Make sure you have your correct profiles selected in Controls.
How do I change the mouse settings. To click I use the right click instead of left click. How do I fix that pls(xbox)
That I'll have to investigate further.
