    Hi Additel,
Why do you prefer to use the comparison method with a SPRT and not the mercury point cell?
Does it have to do with your country's regulations?
Thank you very much for the video, I have an Additel 282 with two PRT Accumac AM1640 calibrated by you, however there is one that behaves somewhat unstable, you perform annealing prior to calibration?

Hello, thanks for your question. There are a few reasons why a comparison point is used for the Mercury Point:
      1. Cost and efficiency: the Mercury cell and equipment is expensive, and would only allow one probe at a time like the Zinc and Aluminum points.
      2. Safety: Since Mercury is toxic, many labs opt not to work with it.
      3. Accuracy: Since -39°C can be reached with a fluid bath (as opposed to a dry block) the accuracy difference to a fixed point will only be 1-2 mK. If Aluminum and Zinc were done with the comparison method, the difference would be greater.
Regarding your AM1640 probe, please send an email detailing the instability of your probe to service@additel.com and we would be happy to assist you!
