    Be sure and pull the plug wire off each plug as the heat can melt or burn the boots and cause misfires. I've been reading where many people had same issue as you and it was plug wires, even on new plug wires. Buy the MSD or Accel 900 ceramic boots as they will not melt and cause issues. This could be your issue, pull them all one by one and check them.

      I definitely need to get some of those boots! I did just install all brand new plugs and wires!

    Man that bites! Before you swap the motor, maybe someone in a local corvette club can recommend a good specialist mechanic that can figure it out. I like to take a shot at things too but sometimes I need help.

    Nice video also have a 94, yea it seems you have another issue hope you get it running. I am going on my 2nd opti with 105k. Bit the bullet and converted to Torghead to just get rid of the opti had it done last week. I just cannot drive knowing if the car is going to leave me somewhere. What headlights are you running, I need to change mine out and want to go projection.

      Thanks for stopping by! I was going to convert to the Torquehead system last year but parts were on backorder forever it seems like! I may still go that route at some point.
      The headlights are Genssi LED bulbs.
      I did a video review on them awhile back...they are really nice!

    Why in the F___ would they put the Optishit unit way under there.??? Just say no to the LT1 and newer motors. They are supposedly faster but definitely not worth the additional headaches. That's MY advise.!!!

    With the aftermarket coil, the cable with the 90* bend seems to snap on much better. On your drivers side, did you route your wires properly?
    By properly, I mean if looking at the wires from the drivers side, are they all the was under the power steering hose.
    Wires should be in the small gap between the bracket and hose, not over the hose.

    • @Amundred
      @Amundred  2 роки тому +1

      Yup, all wires behind the bracket and beneath the hose - I am going to put the new wires on this weekend and try to fire up the car to see if it runs any better on the off chance that there is a wire issue somewhere

      I haven't done anything else with the Corvette lately. I did pull the codes after resetting them from the Opti install and found some issues with MAP, IAC and EVAP readings. I did a video where I replaced the MAP sensor and EGR components. I have a new IAC which I will be installing this week and I feel like there is a vacuum leak somewhere causing some of the issue. I will take a look at the vacuum lines and throttle body gaskets when I do the IAC.
      I'll make another Corvette video to hopefully upload before the end of the week with an update!
