I’d love a remastered version with just a few of the mechanics from the newer titles like vaulting over obstacles, fire from cover, a dedicated melee button (instead of switching to machete), and stealth takedowns that don’t alert everyone to your position.

I remember I got this game used for my xbox 360 for around $5. I couldn't believe how fun and realistic(for the time) it was. Then I got on Xbox Live and my first match was on a DDay map. I was blown away again with the community creations and how fun that specific map was. Unfortunately, due to the nature of how the game's MP worked, I never got to play that specific map again. I could never find it to download either.
I wish I could go back and experience multiplayer. I bought the game brand new on CD-ROM but my PC crashed and I couldn’t reinstall it on a new hard drive because of the anti piracy software. I reached out to Ubisoft and they wouldn’t help so I had to use a pirated copy which meant no multiplayer content for me.
I had such good memories playing this with my friend. Guns jamming mid battle, while taking pills for malaria, extracting bullets with pliers, fixing the truck for a quick getaway. All while everything burns down around you.
I think the best Far Cry games in the whole franchise overall are Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, and Far Cry Primal. Each one has their own unique identity in terms of mechanics and gameplay progression.

The author clearly has some kind of mod or cheat, because no matter how much I played, even shooting darts in heads(which are soundless) from a huge distance, when this guy was shot, he apparently manages to make a sound, gesture or something like that, because I don't know how, but enemy troops immediately understood that they were attacked and began to hide or move towards to my position...not even knowing where I was. And here the author shoots almost point-blank with an MP5, albeit with a silencer, but no one even batted an eye That's why I was never able to play the game stealthily until FC3 came out, where there's an adequate stealth system...
Never in my life I would've of thought to see a far cry 2 pro stealth video. Now all I need is one of the many far cry 1s or crysis 1. And done. Either way, you're one of the best Far Cry assassins for this video ALONE.
You make this game actually look fun. I remember it sucking, with the weapons jamming, malaria, you can't travel in a vehicle without constantly being annoyed by enemies.
All of that it what made the game fun, the absolute chaos as many small mechanics began stack one on top of the other, making you stay in your toes all the time, it was a beauty on itself and something the sequels never captured again. Except for the respawning enemies, that needed to be toned down lmao

Far Cry 2 is desolate, raw, and brutal. You truly feel like every firefight you have in this game will be your last. The tension you feel shooting enemies at times feels like a horror game. It's one of the rare games where there truly are no heroes, just survivors in a broken world making choices. I'm dying to see a remake of it with improved gameplay or at least another Far Cry in Africa again.

Far Cry 2 is a game from another time, when Ubisoft didn't hold your hand and actually cranked out good games. I have nearly 300 hours in this game and my last playthrough was almost two years ago. The game is more of an extremely advanced tech demo, but the mechanics were ahead of its time. Truly one of the most underappreciated gems in gaming history. It is the best showcase of total freedom. How and when you approach missions is entirely dependent on you, just as your loadout and gameplay style.

Back in 2009 when I played this for the first time, my PC was barely able to run this. Few months ago, I re-played this and it's still so freaking good. Sure it has aged, but man is it still good.
I first played this game on a Core 2 Duo PC with a 512MB graphics card. The FPS rate wasn't good at all but the feeling of surviving was there. That's why I still play this game to this day. I really want a remake of it.
What made this game epic was genuine fear of getting shot. Like it felt legit uncomfortable to know Im gonna get shrapnel and bullets embedded in my body, and have to remove them myself afterwards lol.

I really struggled to get into this game, I found the navigation awkward and its took me 15 years to get into it properly. Having said that its a brilliant game once you find your feet
I had a sniper rifle as my primary, a light machine gun as my special, and a suppressed pistol as my secondary. That was the best loadout to ensure I was fully prepared for engagements at long range, close range, and stealth, respectively.
The setting was among the best but man the stealth was really unforgiving. Coupled with the stiff aiming and no machete takedown animations and its hard to go back from 3.
I got overwhelmed and stressed with the gloomy hot environment and never ending driving in this game, but when i watched your videos I'm thinking of playing it again, like not so bad afterwall if you just want to have fun instead of rushing to complete mission !!
Yeah me too, but then I started to use the Real Africa SweetFX mod it really changed the game's visuals a lot, I suggest you to use this mod when next time you play this game.
I miss the creator mode aspect. Where you could built or join custom made maps. All crafted from scratch on a sandbox style editor. Online multiplayer was insane because of it. I loved it.
Well played. I like FC2, I played it to completion several years ago, but it is far from perfect. One thing that would improve the game for me is increasing the time between respawning of enemies. It's just too short.

This game was unbelievable at the time the graphics blew me away it’s a hard game
for me it was the fire physics, they look amazing even to this day.
I’d argue it’s still pretty today, it is very stylistic/stylized, even the audio quality is insane and holds up imo

The setting was among the best but man the stealth was really unforgiving. Coupled with the stiff aiming and no machete takedown animations and its hard to go back from 3.

I got overwhelmed and stressed with the gloomy hot environment and never ending driving in this game, but when i watched your videos I'm thinking of playing it again, like not so bad afterwall if you just want to have fun instead of rushing to complete mission !!
Yeah me too, but then I started to use the Real Africa SweetFX mod it really changed the game's visuals a lot, I suggest you to use this mod when next time you play this game.

Why is the seemingly non-silenced rifle more quiet than the silenced weapons?
I guess it's because it shoots darts instead of bullets, but it should still alert nearby enemies.
When he comes out of the water at 1:00, dude's swimming arms just fall off and a new pair comes up with a rifle

Well played. I like FC2, I played it to completion several years ago, but it is far from perfect. One thing that would improve the game for me is increasing the time between respawning of enemies. It's just too short.
