fukyugata ni in matsubashi / shorin ryu except the last 2 double punches are to the front and not at 45 degrees. 👍

Yeh it's funny like that. In goju ryu jodan uke is the same as age uke in shorinji ryu.

I believe the original way is indeed straight 2 punches, as I have seen videos of Goju instructors in Okinawa do it this way. However, in many Goju schools / styles, including in the dojo where I practice, the double punch is taught at 45 degrees. Also, before the double punch, I was taught a double-block, but for the Ni version, it is a Mawashi Uke.
