Apple Vision Pro has taken the internet by storm. Suddenly, VR headsets are being used in public. So, will eye contact be a thing of the past? In the future, will everyone be wearing VR headsets and no longer seeing each other's eyes? I address the social implications of Apple Vision Pro in this video.

And no one even bothered me while using it so that was nice.
I don't have the headset yet (only a MQ3 which I would never wear outside) but I think the AVP is stylish and I would use mine in public. I think the future generations will look even better and it won't be seen as weird to use them in public.
I wouldn't walk around with it because I like to see things with my own eyes rather than through cameras and a screen, but using it as a computer to work from a coffee shop works great.
You can use it as a Dashcam but in your face. Record your whole day well, at least until your battery 🔋 runs out. 🪫 Could be good for recording special events. 👘🪭🤷🏻♂️😉👌🙋🏻♂️🫶
I feel like I’ve seen some UA-camrs carry a screen with them as they walk around wearing AVP, but haven’t seen how far that can be pushed 2:50
Walking around with a $4000 headset and $1500 laptop publicly seems dangerous to me.

Great video. I seriously doubt we’ll see everyone walking around wearing goggles, most people would not wear a mask during a public health emergency. I think the AVP is actually spatial computing. Our physical space is no longer important, my broom closet office suddenly becomes the corner office on the top floor. I’m fascinated by the AVP use of windows space and depth as well as input options. We can use the eyes and tap, Siri, virtual keyboard, real keyboard and touch like an iPad.
Great video and beautiful house Jas! I think the technology is not there yet. Maybe someday when it’s in the form of glasses. I wouldn’t walk around town with the AVP either. It is a safety issue as you said

Lot of these social videos are just for getting clicks. Most people aren’t even using it correctly. It’s meant to be used sitting down or limited movement. Lot of people think this will fail but Apple is pretty serious about this area and I see them pushing the boundaries even more when the tech gets caught up.
I’ll never bet against Apple. They seem to always figure it out when they enter a new area. Not to mention competitors will release better headsets. Competition brings innovation.

Thank you for making the video, Jasmine! I definitely feel like the Apple Vision Pro is a “concept vehicle” of sorts, and will fail as a product from a business perspective. But they also are marketing it as wearing it at home and interacting with others or your family, especially children, and that is living in a fantasy world on their part.
I don’t think we will ever have glasses for AR. AR glasses that look like normal glasses today we’ll have to have huge trade-offs. I think people would rather have the better experience and have like a bulky set of glasses. Like look at the AR glasses we have now with X Real the experience compared to using a VR headset. It’s just night and day difference. The VR headset is so much better and I think it’s just gonna stay like that forever.
The new XReal AR glasses are definitely a bit bulkier than current smart glasses like the Ray-Ban Meta, but who knows... maybe we will eventually get them to a super sleek form factor. Honestly, the size of xreal isn't even that big considering everything they can do.
@@VRwithJasminei also think Apple is trying to set a precedent that a cable to some sort of computing puck will be ok. I feel like that’s why they did this with the battery instead of put it behind someone’s head
I think that eventually your iPhone will be the “battery” - and it will also offload some of the tech for Vision Pro into the iPhone to help reduce the size of the Vision Pro.
I doubt we will see "everyone" wearing an Apple Vision Pro and walking around, it is just two expensive. It's not even in Australia and when it is, it will be $6,500 which for us is a lot of money, as much as you need to by a elite gaming PC and high end VR headset.
I also can't imagine how bad it would be to not see someone's real eyes, how do you fully read their expressions or flirt with them? You can see so much with looking into someone's eyes.

I feel this is the end of us as humans. We have lost touch of what life really is. We are getting lazier. I'm glad I was born in 81 because I got to live an actual life without technology. It was wonderful. So much less stress. I love technology but too much can be really bad. All you have to do is look at our society. Kinda sad
The infrastructure in the US is terrible for fostering community. Cities are built to keep us isolated so we stay home more and buy more stuff for our homes. It is really sad. In Europe, the streets are easily walkable and there's a lot of hangout spots. Cafes and bakeries are affordable so you could go hang out with friends there every day if you wanted. People walk to the park with their kids after work. That type of third place and community just doesn't exist in the US. It's really, REALLY sad. People use technology as an escape because of what our cities and neighborhoods are lacking to give us, which is third places :(
