As we continue the renovation of our Orlando home we had to have some stern words with our contractor to try and bring the project back on track. Definitely made right decision to get rid of all top bits of the pillars - if you hadn’t you would looking at them saying wish we had done it while builders were here. The room looks a lot bigger without them
Mrs Bazza made the right decision to make sure the ceiling pillars were taken out, it makes a whole world of difference. Nice to see the smiles back on your faces at the end of the vlog. Onwards and upwards, can't wait to see the finished renovations
Really coming along I love the post removal really opens up the room I think you are really going to be happy with final results so glad Mrs B’s accent wall not damaged considering all the construction
It’s looking really good, I’m enjoying watching the renovations your having done, can’t wait for the end results 👍. Thank you for bringing us along with you, it’s exciting 😊
Hey Mr & Mrs Bazza, another great vlog. Your room is "Definitely" 1000% better without the pillars. You can see things coming together. Can't wait for the next home update. Thank You x
Good decision to ditch the pillars, looks much better. Looks like a decent plastering job but you never know until you get some paint on it. Mrs Bazza watching like a hawk 👀
I am so impressed with your patience and resilience, I would be so upset with the delay and problems encountered, but you are both superstars! Cannot wait to see the end result.
@@ThemeParkBazza oh no, I really feel for you both, I live in the UK and service is just not like it used to be, no real sense of pride in their work. I truly hope your patience is rewarded, I’ll have everything crossed 🤞

Coming along. Reassuring for you to see progress, and to see that nice stack of cabinets in the garage. So exciting to get a new kitchen (well for some folks 😂). We removed tile in our house (and I do mean we - hubby and I) and the dust went everywhere (floating upstairs). I had to damp dust the walls, woodwork, blinds ….. everything - after the new flooring was down.
Removing those pillars has really opened up the space. Good on you Maxine for putting the contractor straight about the ceiling. Looks like it’s coming on nicely. Thanks for bringing us along! xXx
Really liking these videos but it does remind me of the stress you have to go through dealing with contractors. Got to say though that I am not sure I could put up with the unusual times your contractors decide to show up and the time they spend on site. Removing the posts and having the ceiling flush was a great decision. Have a good day.
More fun to come Richard in the next few vlogs. Some painters turned up at 4pm last night ( Friday) to start painting unannounced as we were planning to go out at 5pm . Quite stressful
So glad that you can see things moving forward now. Glad you both feel that you have done the right thing. It’s going to look fabulous and worthwhile the waiting and delay. Good luck.
It's a good thing Max is watching the contractor closely. I'm the same way, I would be able to tell what they did to the ceiling. I notice every small detail, I can tell she is the same way.
Progress at last, you both look much happier and relieved now that they are getting on with it. Interesting to see the Tesla procedure for charging. We noticed that you have got the same welcome to Las Vegas duvet cover in the garage as us from argos. Plan A is done, move on to plan B. Thanx for sharing.
Wow, renovations are coming on . We've just had a new kitchen fitted. It's from IKEA and I love it . I whent with black cupboards at the bottom and white ones at the top ,just waiting for the tiles to be done. Can't wait to see what yours looks like . Hope you have no more setbacks. 😊❤
We considered the two tone cabinets but ended with grey. The USA is a lot more conservative then the UK and we have to think of resale value down the road as well
V3 Superchargers (listed as 250kW in the navigation) actually don't split power with adjacent stalls so if somebody pulls up next to you it doesn't matter, that only happens with the older V2 stations (listed as 120 or 150kW max in the navigation and they have a thicker non water cooled cable).
Thanks Olly , yes I have found that out after living out of the house for a few weeks. I found a 150KW charging station and tested that theory and proved it splits the KW between 2 stations in the 150KW and the cables are much thicker.
Great progress, especially after Ms. Bazza lit a fire under the contractors! LOL! Good decision on removing the arch where the pillars used to be as well. I don't think you would have been happy leaving the arch. It looks much better with it removed.
wow....the whole house is gutted, I have been following along from the beginning and thought you were just doing a minor renovation . Looking forward to every step along the way!!! any plans to add a Florida room?
Florida is the perfect place for a Tesla with its sunny warm weather and flat terrain. Any plans to get solar and Tesla Power Walls so you can run the house and charge the car from the sun? The house is coming along great.
I priced up Tesla solar when we did the roof, they wanted 70K dollars, so it was a non starter. i would love to have solar but its not in the budget currently. I would never own a EV with the current technology in a colder climate, Florida is ideal
11:15 Aye up guys, that’s more like it you both look more relieved now ,the flooring should be a piece of cake now, looking forward to the cabinets going in hopefully with no alterations,Barry can you explain the kitchen island wall bit does that contain the services ie water, electrics etc it appears the neighbour’s are having a bit of diy as well, when do leave the air bnb or will you extend it
Aye up Michael. The kitchen island does contain electrical for sockets but no water. In real time we are about 2 weeks ahead of the vlogs you see, so a lot of stories to come about the airbnb and some un planned alterations.
Hi both, it's strange that there are 2 openings to go to the kitchen, I think I would have blocked the laundry room off from the front living room. Removing the pillars has made such a difference already. x
Hi Ann, the laundry room is upstairs . It quite normal in US homes to have a main entry into the kitchen and a “ butlers pantry” for serving food near the dining table
Bazza as a builder the time taken to do this job worries me I would have expected 10 working days for a team of 4 start to finish but as long as you are both happy keep safe Andy and Vonnie
Well Andrew I was talking to both my mum and dad and sister in the UK. Last year Mum and Dads Job was supposed to take 1 month and it took 3 , My sister was supposed to take 3 months and took a year . So I think we are not alone in this work of builders.

As an architectural technologist, specializing in structural systems, I need to caution you that one of those columns which was removed is in fact a structural column. You can see where the beam above supporting the second floor load is now unsupported. You need to have an engineer come in to inspect the demolition before you close it up. Please, please please do this immediately.
Thanks Jon , we did have it checked out. We were assured it was not structural, that pillar itself was hollow and floating on the floor not secured. Also both out neighbors have had theirs removed prior to us
I would imagine the drawings you sent into the county for the reno permit would show if they are load bearing. Maybe the inspector will check it when he does his inspection.
