Yemen is now largely war-torn and impoverished with multiple groups fighting for control in all parts of the country. It is incredibly uneasy and allegiances shift quickly. Just visited Sao Tome. Easiest country ever to visit. Most nationalities are visa on arrival. You can fly there from Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Ghana, Lisbon and Gabon. I crossed the Liberia/Ivory Coast border May 2016 a month after you. I had the same problem (crossing from Ivory Coast to Liberia). I paid three smugglers. Was caught by the police the first 2 times. Got in the third time. Why is crossing through the border in the jungle a bad idea? Worked well for me (the third try). It's misleading to tell people that getting into Ivory Coast by land is difficult. Crossing closed boards because of Ebola is difficult. However crossing anywhere else was not (I had no trouble getting into Ivory Coast from Burkina Faso April 2016). I don't get how you managed to visit all the countries in the world if you think traveling on the back of a motorcycle in West Africa is uncomfortable. How did you manage Central African Republic and Equatorial Guinea? I'm assuming you flew in and out.
Hey man! Thanks for watching / commenting. I included Sao Tome as an example of places that take long journeys to reach (didn't want the video to just be hard visas), also remember these are MY hardest countries to visit- different people have different experiences. I'm not interested in being smuggled anywhere, always try to respect the laws even if frustrating so that's why I was against the informal jungle route. I didn't say that entering Ivory Coast by land is hard - in fact in the video I say that I entered it by land (via Ghana) a few months later! Remember that everyone travels in different ways and some things that one person find uncomfortable or difficult will be easy for others- everyone has their own experiences and each is valid. I loved the trip on the motorcycle but was very uncomfortable by the end purely from the position. Though I've entered 120 countries by land- but CAR and EG both by plane. Keep watching and engaging!! :D :D :D
@@SalLavallo193 I mentioned CAR and EG by plane because I had a hell of a time going in and out of those countries by land. I can't see many people doing that nor do I recommend it. I think its interesting we were trying to cross the Liberia/Ivory Coast border by land at the same time. I respect the fact you try to follow laws. You are right that people have different experiences. Crazy you had to go all the way around to Ghana to get into Ivory Coast. I try to explain to people how complicated Africa can be and they don't get it. Things change over all the time. I am also trying to visit all of the countries in the world (been to 106 so far). How did you get into Yemen? When did you go? How about Pakistan? And Libya? Those three currently seem very difficult to enter.
Yea I've heard of lots of people doing Gabon to EG by land, would love to do that some day. I have a video about my trip in Yemen (ua-cam.com/video/jsAJ30zgRb8/v-deo.html). I worked in Pakistan for 4 months in 2014. My Libyan colleagues got me access to Libya in August 2017. Good luck on your journey to all the countries! Let me know if I can be helpful ever on logistics or whatever.
Did a winter trip in Romania that I LOVE for christmas in 2014. I lived in tel Aviv for 4 months and enjoyed that a lot and learned so much. Syria went for eid in 2017 with my friend's family and that was fantastic - suuuch good food!
The hell are you talking about? He took busses everywhere and talks about waiting for busses to fill up to be able to get places like every other person. Don't start shit where there isn't any.
Yeah, im following youve done what ive only wish i could. Id love to hear about your experiance in Liberia and The Congo. Those places i know can be kinda off putting but im interested non the less.
I am surprised you were taking buses so much, especially to go between countries. That is really hardcore. I would have thought it's much more dangerous than flying, even in US buses aren't super safe.
Most underrated travel in my eyes no other travel gurus compare my least favorite is drew Binsky to say the least I can tell a lot about sal his energy vibe is pure I would love to travel with him one day
Actually visiting Belarus from plane if you arrive by Minsk it's rather easy (that's the easy way to go to Belarus visa free). From road/train/bus you can go visa free if you visit Grodno or Brest region and stay within (soon they will merge the two visa-free regions to be able to visit one then other visa-free) but I think you have to get in touch with a tour operator (not sure) if you want visa-free entrance otherwise than by Minsk airport (to visit either Brest or Grodno region). If you come by plane from Minsk airport you can stay 30 days visa free (wherever in the country), but currently over 5 days (project to extend to 10 days) if you stay at an apartment or family/friend places rather than hotel/hostel you need to register online your presence (or go to administrative internal affairs building to register). Also, mind that visa-free doesn't work if you decide to go from or to Moscow, whatever the way to travel (plane, car, train, bus) because of the peculiar situation of border between two countries which is not a real border (union state). I only visited Belarus by Minsk airport arrival yet, probably because I knew arriving otherwise is a little more complicated lol. Note that my comment works for people who have EU passports, that probably works as well for North America, Gulf countries and some South American countries.

@@SalLavallo193 I heard Equatorial Guinea is a PITA to get in if you don't have a US passport. For some reason US citizens are the only citizens who can visit visa free.
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv Yea it was a business decision- since most of EG's economy is oil-based and the US is a leader in that, they thought having a VOA would allow more business to flow. And it did- was a super successful move- now EG is full of Texan oilmen! I think they've loosened up the visa process for others, but is still difficult.

Have you ever been to the Pitcairn Islands (UK territory, so not a country😊) ?? I think it might be even more difficult to get to than Tuvalu. There's no airport so you'd have to come by boat from Tahiti, which is more than 30 hours. It looks like an amazingly beautiful island though.... U should check it out if you haven't :) cheers
I hope to visit there❤
I haven't but would love to
How was your trip to Syria ??
I have a Syrian friend and he showed me photos of Syria and it looks so awesome !! he is convincing me to go with him next month and he is assuming it’s 100% safe in the majority of areas.
Do you have a video about you experience in Syria ??
Thank you ❤️❤️
I really really LOVED Syria. I went in 2017. Would Love to go back. Was before I filmed much so I only have photos.
I am surprised timor leste Lesotho Swaziland are not on your list, did you have good time on all 3?
Timor is something I don’t recommend for people in Bali. For people in South Africa, it’s better to stay in Durban + Cape Town than Lesotho/ Swaziland
Yea I loved all 3! Have some recent videos from LEsotho
@@SalLavallo193 hey sal, im 23 american, do you have any advice when it comes to getting visas in difficult asian and african countries? how far in advance did you apply for the visa online, i saw some of your videos where you just crossed the border, is that more expensive than doing it in DC?
When you’re ready to share, you should create a video about your Yemen experience
shared it here: ua-cam.com/video/jsAJ30zgRb8/v-deo.html
Interesting! I love to travel but wouldn’t want to visit every country, it would be nice to visit several I am most interested in throughout my lifetime, my husband and I are dreaming of a car trip around the USA, visiting different states, hopefully one day it will happen 😅 I wanted to ask you do you have several passports? I know some countries have issues letting people in if they have stamps from some others countries for example Saudi Arabia/ Iran / Israel etc
Burundi can be easily accessed by bus from Rwanda within a couple of hours :)
please write a book!
I want to!
How was it going to Eritrea?
I have three videos about Eritrea:

@@SalLavallo193 thank you and was it easy to get into the country?
@@becausezakisaid yea it was! just got my visa at the embassy here in the UAE
@@SalLavallo193
You are right bro
Eritrea has no problems with the voreigners.
It is very suitable and free in Eritrea
But this is only for the Voreigners not for us.
Very encouraging experience. You show real guts. The presentation is very interesting as if we're listening to an adventure story
How did get money? and how much did it cost?
Hi Sal, I’m 10 years old. I’m super inspired. Can you make a video on tips and tricks on how to travel cheap
Yes! Have a video on that coming up soon :D
Sal Lavallo Thanks
What’s your experience in the UAE?
I have more than 5 videos about the UAE: ua-cam.com/video/76kBoJkZbJY/v-deo.html
It's a pity you didn't vlog your journeys and i hope you do so in your next one's! This channel could easily have over a million subs and well deserved if-only instead of narrating there was video footage each week. Thanks for sharing youe experiences with us :)
tell your friends :D
@Sal Lavallo
Salam brother,
I wonder, you never experience, someone tried to rob you? That is the most scariest part of traveling for me.
Congrats -great travels.
You are very lucky !
have been to belarus more than 10 times. don’t really think it should be on here
It's not your video though is it haha
Sal Lavallo didn’t claim it is, but i don’t think it should be on a “hardest countries to visit” map, especially as they have visa free travel now lol
Is there any way you could make a list of countries in an order that makes the best sense to visit in your opinion? And like how you go about obtaining a visa for each? Thanks! And I love your videos btw
That would be a LOOONG video! and the list would depend on where you're from (visas are different based on passports) and what you're interested in seeing
Challenge for you: Since you like road travel so much, you should go to North Korea by road and then to South Korea.
This is the coolest thing I’ve heard in a while. You must have amazing insight into what similarities we all share.
thanks my friend!!
what’s it like in Scotland?
All good except the loch ness monster ;)
hair gel. and good stories
;)
Like I'm scared that if I go to some places I might get held at gunpoint or something
Anything can happen of course, but 1. that's unlikely and 2. that can happen even in your own town!
Sal Lavallo that is a good point actually like I always feel like people say I'm not going to Columbia because u might get shot or they have drug issues and I'm like but that can happen anywhere
Yemen is such a nice counrty to be visited
But not now because of problems going there right now
Best wishes for u & Yemeni people
From Egypt
No its not. Whats nice to see in Yemen?
One city and the rest of the country full of nothing?
Where there are in statistics 3 guns for person?
Where every man uses a Jambiya on his belt?

Seems u take your information from the enternet which is completely fales. I was like you & my thoughts was abit harash on that counrty But i lived there before the crisis it was the Best time of my life, people are such a freindly & Hospitable
What’s your experience when you visited my homeland Jordan ? I hope you liked it !
I went 2x - the best was when I did the Dead2Red race from the dead sea to the red sea!
Sal Lavallo that sounds fun , you are always welcome to visit us in Middle East :)
Same here in America
How did you make out in Iran ? I have been there.
by plane
Was your experience in Romania and Israel and Syria?
Did a winter trip in Romania that I LOVE for christmas in 2014. I lived in tel Aviv for 4 months and enjoyed that a lot and learned so much. Syria went for eid in 2017 with my friend's family and that was fantastic - suuuch good food!
Sal Lavallo but what bout’ the war? Was it good?
Have you been in Abjasia, Osetia del Sur, Trasnitria, Nagorno Karabaj?? I'm from México
only Transnistria - I have a video from there
I'm originally from Guinea. Nice to hear that you had a good time there, though we have a lack of infrastructure and that explains the bumpy ride.
yea I loved staying in Nzerekore! was a great couple weeks
You seem like a nice person. I never subscribe and I just subbed you. That was v interesting. Thanks 👍🏻
am happy that you did!
Tough tour 🎄
Was Canada and Italy fun?
yea - Italy especially
Are you on Drew Binsky’s channel as well?
yup - in a few of his videos
Sal Lavallo thanks!
Why do you expect not to travel the same ways the locals do?
I typically do travel how they do - mostly overland
The hell are you talking about? He took busses everywhere and talks about waiting for busses to fill up to be able to get places like every other person. Don't start shit where there isn't any.
Are there any countries you have traveled to that you would specifically not advise going to as a solo *female* traveler?
no- there are many women who have traveled to every country too!
niger is actually pronounced "naijer".A lot of people make that mistake so just wanted to clear that
Loli turner It's not at all pronounced "naijer", it's francophone and Sal pronounced it perfectly!
Way to go misleading people
true.
Ginuea West Africa any Visa for Trinidad and Tobago citizen
I'm not sure - but wikipedia has great visa requirement maps
How was your experience in Chad?
I actually talk about it in my most recent video!
Sorry I am new to your channel - were these travels completed with multiple trips over multiple years? How do you finance them?
I talk about that here: ua-cam.com/video/JjdbYpXfxHw/v-deo.html and in a couple other videos

I love going overland!
that sounds ridiculously dangerous why even put yourself in that position
Good to know you are safe and sound.
thank you :D
Hey Sal! Love your videos, so interesting. Little random but I was wondering if you have been to Dagestan?
I haven't!

Note that my comment works for people who have EU passports, that probably works as well for North America, Gulf countries and some South American countries.
now. Not before.
Sal is the best travler and he is such a good person 🌺! All what he said was true! All the respect for Yemen 🌺🌺💖
How about Iran and Bhutan
They can be complicated but are straightforward.
War still on going in Yemen and I'm so sorry to hear that trust me Yemeni people are so friendly with everyone pls do think once again to visit Yemen upon the shit war gets over, do contact me once u think to come wish u and Yemen a peaceful life
yes someday I wish to return again :D
Also do you use a USA passport?
Yes all the 193 were on my US passport.
