- Punters compete head-to-head for the last punter roster spot in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Football Game, after Georgia commit Jake Camarda captured the first selection.
Punt competition finalists include Tennessee commit Paxton Brooks, Western Michigan commit Nick Mihalic, and uncommitted punter Ryan Wright.
The all-american football game airs in January on ESPN.

i feel like its really hard to get scholarships as a punter kicker ,since college and nfl only have 1 punter 1 kicker so like 32 kickers and 32 punters only make it
Josh Norman #HTTR college has more than one in a lot of cases. Because they have to replace guys. On my team I started out here as (I crap you not) the third string punter. And had to work my way onto the field.
Josh Norman #HTTR yea, and they end up playing for like 20 years so they are never really drafted unless a team has a 40 year old punter or kicker

Is there any specific tips for getting a consistent 5 sec hang time? I am stuck at around 4.2 seconds on my best punts. I can cover 55 yards (excluding the LOS) but the balls will always hang for 4 seconds usually.
Sit back, and lock that leg out through contact. Would love to get some hands on training. Check out our website for summer camps!
I actually was shocked when I found out that keeping my shoulders square and walking up with shorter steps improved my hang a lot. Getting rid of that first lunge step was a game changer for me.
Vibe Lands Keep square to the ball, drop it from straight in front of you, keep it towards the middle to outer part of your foot for a good spiral, and drive your leg to the heavens don’t stop your leg on contact
Just keep working on knocking it farther and your accuracy. The height will come with the accuracy.

Any tips for getting better hang time? I usually punt 45 yards but only wit around a 3.5 second hang time... I think it’s maybe because I don’t kick my leg all the way up to my head and as soon as I punt the ball I stop swinging my leg upwards. Could that be a possibility?
Everyone's form varies a little bit, but typically punters get their legs up and through quite a bit. Feel free to check out our training camps at our website!
As a rugby player we also punt the ball same technique as American football.
Is it good to punt 35 before bounce as a freshman? The airtime is only 3.7 usually though

My hangtime sucks, might just be the wind being 16mph today but I average 60yrds a punt but only 3sec hangtime, I am going to one of the training camps in a month and by then I will make my legs stronger and increase my distance.. I have only been punting for about a month so I have a lot to learn still
