    I’m a painting contractor in LA. I pride my self on quality and care for my guys. ALL competition subs out. I have a 30 guy company . I suffer hard because of this. But I know my guys and what they can do. My margins are smaller but my jobs come out almost perfect every time. There is true difference between subs and genuine trained employees. But I disagree on the guarantee on job time. Getting job done right the first time, can very I always block my crews two days over what I think it’s going to take. I don’t want production paint jobs I want quality and that takes time. But you a spot on about the residential painting industry.

    I’m third generation paint contractor, with almost 30 years experience. What you’ve said here is spot on . It was almost a standard. Once I knew a contractor who paid all his employees as subs an deducted worker compensation from their pay.

    I found this video to be very informative. Don't understand why there are so many thumbs down, perhaps they are the paint contractors Nick is referring to.

      AhYung Rocks thanks! If you look, the negative comments are by painters irritated that I’ve called them out. This was made for homeowners, not contractors. So funny.

    I could name some companies subbing out. Lead guy gets general liability no workman’s comp then pays his guys cash.

    I would win 100% of the jobs if he was
    my competition, you can’t come across timid like that when dealing with customers, they want someone strong and to the point that takes pride in the details and Isn’t afraid to charge top dollar because if they like you enough they will pay it pretty much every time, been in business for 7 years and still haven’t ever ran out of work, all top of the line jobs with all high paying customers, do yourself a favor and get in really good shape and look the best you possibly can, look the customers in the eye and be relatable, know your trade and stand out from all these other average Joe’s and trust me you will absolutely blow away the competition, I’ve had customers hire me because I’m in great shape, they see that as dedication and it draws them to you, just a little tip from a highly successful Painting Contractor

      Vinnie DeLuca ha, your comment makes me laugh. I know thousands of painting contractors, more than when I recorded this. You sound like the typical painter. I would bet though that at 47 years old, I could out run you and out lift you. Just bc I don’t look like my friend Chris Berry, does not mean I’m not in shape. I work out 7 days a week. I’m the leader in my market and don’t hold back. Find me at The Business Brush on FB, UA-cam or my podcast. Would love to help you.

      Nick May hahahahah ok man keep dreaming. Unless your 6 feet 225 pounds of muscle at 12% body fat which I can clearly see your not even close then you will not understand what I’m talking about, you can talk a big game all you want but I would absolutely destroy you in business and in the actual work, your timid and that would give me the advantage every single time, I’m actually trying to help you see one of your weaknesses that you may not of even realized you had but if your going to go down the I’m stronger that you and can paint circles around you road im telling you man the road is going to be a long one for you.

      Sounds like a typical painter? What does that even mean? Aren't you SUPPOSED to be a painter? Vinnie is right, you do act timid! Builders I deal with would eat you alive! Let me guess, you're a painting contractor with little to no actual painting experience! I can picture you on no paint crew I've ever worked on on! We would of run you off by lunch!

      you should have learned a trade, from what you sound like you would never have had any intellectual ability to do anything above and beyond breathing paint, a far cry from living a rewarding in life. You're a loser. and hopefully you won't live on the taxpayer's buck but half your expected lifespan

    • @saburius
      @saburius 5 років тому +2

      @@CnHoltzman1 That's pretty mean bro. He is actually right in every way. Working for someone else in painting is nothing but slavery. 99% of painters out there don't make shit. If he found a way to take back a little bit of what was taken from him, then more power to him.
