the name of the band that did this tune originally was "The Ides of March" and if there ever was a definitive "one hit wonder" band, they were it. I didn't even know the name of the songwriter until I read these comments today .... lol .... with the departure of David Clayton Thomas being replaced by Bo there is now not a single original member of B,S&T left, but no matter, it's great to see any group of guys carry on with the tradition and the name and to keep playing live this amazing music that brings me back to my childhood, those were the days, Good Job ! ... a footnote: Bo was second place in American Idol, the other finalist and winner that year being Carrie Underwood who is now probably the biggest star in Country Music (and well deserved, she is awesome) I followed the competition that year and I had 3 favorites, them 2 and Anwar Robinson (who very unfairly ended up at number 7) .... either one could have won, I would have been happy ... way to go Bo ... lol ... it's awesome to see him doing this and classic rock was always his specialty :)
BS&T may not have any original members left, but one of them, Bobby Columby is directing and put this version of the band together. Also, Jim Peterik may have had one hit with The Ides of March with this, but he also had other hits like "Hang On Loosely" (38 Special), and of course the hits he had with his 80s band, Survivor including "Eye of the Tiger".
I know I am probably not the majority opinion but as good as this is this is a cover band. If a band has no original members that is how I feel. Nothing wrong with musicians making a living though.
Jim Peterik and the Ides of March had the hit, their first, in 1970.
Bo and Blood, Sweat and Tears is a beautiful fit. Hope they stay together and make a lot of new music.
Bo,
Hope all is well. Great seeing and hearing your magnificent talent on display in this video
*LOVE* Bo Bice's intro to Jim Peterik's Vehicle. The sound is awesome with Blood, Sweat & Tears band. AWESOME!
