- Plastic Modelers Club in Owensboro, KY. put on their 6th Annual Model Car Show/Contest and Swap Meet Sept 9 2022.
Plenty of GREAT builds on the tables and bargains to be had in the swap meet! Even had a chance to look inside several old Jo-Han kits.

The Plastic Modelers Club did a great job putting on their 6th annual Model Contest and Swap Meet. Speaking of Swap Meet, there were plenty of good deals and it seemed like everyone was walking away with more kits for their stash!! 🙂👍

The weathering job on the '53 Chevy in the thumbnail was incredible. Looks like it's been sitting in the back yard for 25 years. Seen a yellow Mustang w/gray primer hood like that as well. Now that's some weathering technics.

I would love to see some of the more unique custom builds made into a die cast , not all of us are as talented as most of these builders , and it would be nice to have a replica of some of these builds.

My lord… I have been watching a lot of modeling shows… and this by far has had the most unique and… just superb models… I am speechless… Kentucky must be the HUB of badass modeling…from the cars…bikes… and the dioramas….Tanks…and that blue jet with the realistic flames coming out… I am just out of it…. Some of this models were unreal… very nice show and very cool video… Man I couldn’t take my eyes away…

Hey Tim, another great show. 👍😎. I don't like big crowds so I thought I'd wait a bit before watching 😂. Some great models. I really liked those ones where the guy stated he'd painted them,a Captain America dragster and a few others by same guy. Excellent paint. 👍😎😎👍. awesome video, brother. it was a fun show, for sure! hope you can make it to next year's show. there were some really awesome builds, great amount of vendor goodies to be had. I had a blast, as always. and the blue/white 55 pontiac that was parked outside, that's my daily driver. it really made my day to see it get a mention and be immortalized here on youtube. happy modeling! 😎👍

I used to to that level of modeling work 47 years ago. i made the wiring, hoses ect. from the part trees. they are still in my attic and some still are together and look pretty good. wow really nice work shown in this show. some of the blended paint jobs i cant even imagine how it was even done.

My friend and I used to enter our cars in model car contests back when we were teens. Never won, but always enjoyed seeing all the other entries.
I got a chuckle out of seeing the "Delta" car and float cake from Animal House!

I think every Mechanic when young built model cars , which was a good thing , it started a life long love of cars . Modelers of to day are carrying the same tradition . The models today are just great signs of workmanship .

@@THROTTLEPOWER Sure, it's now called Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. They do concerts all summer, and there is a museum too. I've been to a few concerts but not the museum yet. It's a really nice place, if you're ever in the area you should check it out.

Man that was a heck of a show Tim. Some of the paint work on the models I don’t think there are words to describe the hours work and detail that went into them. Just absolute perfection. Thanks for the video man. Love the work that you do man. Keep it up!!!!

I restore real older Mopar's and as a kid I built model kits...I watch these videos and think maybe I should pick up a vintage model kit and build one..Then again,It might be to addicting and detract from my work restoring old cars lol...Anyways,Great Job!!

No, I didn't get those, thought about it, but decided not to. Yes, there were several good deals Scott and several vendors sold out by the end of the day. Glad you enjoyed the vid!

Thank you for the kind words Mike. Yea, that seems to be hit and miss at the shows. Sometimes I'll see it and sometimes I won't. Wouldn't surprise me if AMT comes back out with it.
Awesome show Tim. Hopefully you came away with some terrific deals. I always enjoy going to a good show. Theres always good deals to be had. I was at one today here in Boyertown, Pa. It was the annual Fantastic Plastic show here in Boyertown, Pa. I found quite a few parts cars to complete some of my restorations. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the video on all the boxed and bagged kits... I must have hit the pause key 20 times looking at what I could do if I got my mitts on those kits... I figure about $300 lighter in my pocket

Very nice. Where can you buy plastic model car kits now days?. When I was growing up . Many moons ago, you could buy a Rebel. Or Monogram model car for what a kid could afford. Then at Crown Hobbies. I could buy parts to modify it. Wheels . Engines. Anything. Wow those were the days. I was into Mode As
So true, I think those were the good ol' days Juan........ There are still a few well stocked hobby shops around. Some arts and crafts stores carry them and there are several places on line that carry them too.

No, but I was really thinking about it during most of the show. I went back to it a couple times.
That Blue 350Z was nasty… I wish the wheels would have been spaced out a little more in the back/rear wheel. But bad ass.

@@THROTTLEPOWER love the 350z… test drove one… it was just to small for me… I am 6’6” 260… I had a hard time getting in and out of that car… But have always loved the body style.. And that blue model of the Z was nice as hell… just wish he could have manipulated the back axle and wheels.

Looks like you found several Jo Han kits ..They are rare as hens teeth..the only Jo Han I've found and built so far is the 31 Cadillac V16 I found at a garage sale a few months ago...

That would be 1/8 scale. Revell made several of them in the past and they are VERY nice kits!

I have been looking for a 92 thru 97 chevy or GMC ext cab single rear wheel pickup, but cannot find one at all, why didnt any model company ever offer one? One of the most common trucks on the road and millions sold, tons of custom trucks out there too one of which I own, but to find a model of one that dosent have duallys or 4x4 really upsets me, just a basic ext cab single wheel truck is all I ask, I own a 97 GMC 1500 with 6ft box and cant find one anywhere as a model, WTH???

There are dozens of amt 93, 94 chevy c-1500 extended cab single rear wheel pickup promos on ebay in 1/25 scale. Different colors available. Came out of Chicago and now available on eBay. Great as is or kit bashing. There is one seller that has a 1/25 Dodge club cab body available on eBay. Search 1/25 Dodge club cab and 1/25 Chevy extended cab to find them.
