  • Goh V Shem (吴蔚昇; born Goh Wei Shem, 20 May 1989) is a Malaysian badminton player in the doubles event. He was partnered with Tan Wee Kiong after their outstanding performance at the 2014 Thomas Cup. Together, Goh and Tan won the gold medal for the men's doubles event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games as well as all their matches in the mixed team event, helping Malaysia retain the gold medal for the third consecutive time. They also won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games and the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, thus making them the second ever Malaysian men's doubles pair to win the silver medal at the Olympic Games 20 years after the feat was achieved by Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock in 1996 Atlanta. Goh and Tan are also the fourth Malaysian men's doubles pair to hold the world number 1 ranking after Cheah and Yap followed by Chan Chong Ming and Chew Choon Eng, and later on by Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong ever since official rankings were kept in the 80s.[1]

      He is the most beauty jump smash in badminton so far. But for my opinion I choose Tan Boon Heong for the best Malaysian backcourt player.

    Honestly the greatest player to generate a jumping smash along with Fu Haifeng

    4:32 "Aiyah" says it all... lololol. Anyways, brute force, perfect technique and perfect timing is what makes these top hitters get that maximum whiplash effect. You can see how Asian players smash more with the wrist flick and not as full-arm as the western players

    The perfect example to teach the beginners, you need to "pause" and then use your core muscle to generate swing speed as fast as you can and BAM!

    he always check his racket after finish smashing because he worries that his racket string might not able to withstand his raw power

    No current Malaysian male double players can produce a smash like Goh V Shem, Aaron Chia is light year behind Goh V Shem in terms of smashing.

    • @mmj1327
      @mmj1327 5 місяців тому +2

      Need raw power for that. Aaron can smash hard too but to be able to smash hard one after another with same power for a long time? To me V Shem better at that compared to Aaron or even TBH. TBH admit he can’t smash hard one after another for long time. He felt the power of his smash become lesser. For Izzuddin, it’s look like he can hit hard one after another but lack of consistency. So to me, V Shem still the top MD back court player in Malaysia.
