If you like the stopmotion editing style, make sure to take a look at my second channel! : ua-cam.com/video/oOzMF9wqv18/v-deo.html Hey guys! Like I said in the description, yes this is an old farm, but it still works very good! It's especially good for people who don't want to build an 8 layer giant mob farm, but just like some easy xp and loot.
Hey, look at that. A well edited, to-the-point, entertaining how to video that isn't 30 minutes long and filled with giftcard giveaways and subscriber begging. Absolutely phenomenal work
Tips for others after I built this: -No, you don't need 25 stacks of cobblestone, I only used around 22 stacks when I USED THE BARE MINIMUM (ex.no corners for the 22 block high drop + no corners for any other places) BUT I AM NOT SURE BUT I DONT THINK U ACTUALLY NEED 25 STACKS -I'm not sur abt this but the torches above the farm might be too bright(since mob spawning depends on light level), so I used stone slabs instead (took a bit more than 4 stacks of cobblestone covering the whole thing) - The trap doors require exactly 48 logs, which is 192 planks. - Make sure to bring ~25 ladders if ur not in creative cuz it's really bothersome to go up and down while building it - Getting cobblestone from stone generator was fking slow so I dug out a mountain, used ~11 stone pickaxes for 22 stacks = ~25 wooden pickaxe = ~6 iron pickaxe = ~1 diamond pickaxe - I built it around 100 blocks from my house, the spawn range of mobs is 125 blocks (hori. and verti. with player as center so be sure not to exceed that limit) - Stuff u wanna bring with u while building (if u building far from ur house): Food(cooked), pickaxe, torches, ladders, water bucket for emergencies, sword if nessesary, bed, crafting table - F*ck cobblestone, creepers destroy the blocks, so I replaced a few blocks at the bottom of the drop with obsidian and also replaced the stabs with deepslate tile slab but to prevent the creeper from exploding, you dig one block down so the creeper can't sense you. Sometimes you need to crouch if the creeper saw you right after dropping down. I also built a wall behind me so I don't get knocked back. - I think building the xp farm on the ocean kinda helps. If u get knocked back u fall in water, and if mobs manage to break out they'll die in the water (instead of attacking your house, like in survival hardcore) I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY I SPENT THE EFFORT WRITING THIS. DON'T BLAME ME IF SOME DATA ARE INCORRECT.

A lot of mobs will spawn there due to your proximity, and then when you come down there should be a bunch at the bottom waiting to be killed. Also, very good video, I hope it grows your channel. @Thuận Nguyễn just 20-30 mins of strip mining under a mountain with unbreaking iamond pickaxe from a villager is enough to collect 25 stacks cobble stone
To anyone having trouble with mobs dying from the fall: The height shown in the video seems off, you need to lower the fall by 2 blocks. You can still do this if you built it like it was shown in the video without much issue. Raise the hopper and chests by 2 blocks and cut 2 blocks away from the vertical tunnel. They still have low enough HP to be one hit away from death with a diamond sword and XP rates are much better now. My guess is that a lot of mobs walk directly into the center and skip the water ways which gives them +2 blocks to their fall.
For those that are wondering why some of the mobs are falling to there death, try removing the trapdoors closest to the hole. This helps because some of your monsters are jumping from the spawn room straight into the hole without getting pushed by the water first.
Even if they fall to their death, the things they drop should still go into the hopper though right? You just won't get the xp from killing them? finished this build and am currently AFK lol
For anyone who thought about cutting costs by using slabs for roof or floor: don't do this, slabs let light go through for some reason so mobs won't spawn. Edit: even better, build furnace exp farm, it's way easier to do and gives plenty more exp.
i love how he made a tutorial entertaining. The camera angles, the shaders, the chill music, it felt relaxing, which obviously helps when you're building a really tall farm in hardcore!
@@m1chaelwo0d33 did you build it in java or bedrock? did you light up the top? is the inside still lit up? do you keep the proper distance away such as going 80ish blocks in the air?
Amazing build boss, 10/10 editing and really easy to follow. Also, to anyone wondering if you're unable to find Bamboo you can use cobblestone(or any solid block) and ladders to go up 80 blocks to make your AFK room.
This one is very clean and clear looking. It gets to the point without blabbling for 2 hours at the start and is pretty to look at with those stop motion segments.
This is a well-done tutorial. Its phasing is just right, the angles are good, the instructions are simple, and most importantly no boring chit-chat that eats a lot of the video's time. Subscription-deserving tutorial.
@@morska7940 technically, yes so you can be afk and get the mobs to spawn, all it doe sis make life easier, but it's replacable with other forms of transportations

@@1_Trident he wrote it normally, nothing to be ashamed of. Am i telling you that you wrote offence instead of offense, or am i telling you that the way YOU type gives me cancer? Cmon guys, have a bit of heart.
thats the problem. You need to light up the area around it first so that mobs only spawn inside the spawner. Also, it works much better in the day time
Awesome farm ! I noticed that by placing yourself 1 block below (hoppers to the eye level), skeletons will shoot you. And if the farm is efficient enough (I'm on skyblock so spawn rates are crazy), creepers can sometimes take the shots. This means this farm can produce disks !
Good farm, only tip I have is rearrange some of the steps, you can skip torching up the inside and also skip having to break the torches afterwards by simply doing the trapdoors and water before putting the roof on top
@@pro-pz4yw okay thanks I’ll try that how many more are you thinking? I think it has something to do with render distance since mobs spawn in your render distance
Hey! I have a small tip, it's better if it's on the ocean, because the only available places the mobs can really spawn is the actual grinder, seeing as creepers and zombies and skeletons cannot spawn in the ocean, so they will spawn in higher numbers in the grinder! Also you can light up the caves in the surrounding area to make sure they spawn.
@@blastanoizz2 pretty sure that drownetd are better then zombies, skeletons, creepers, enderman and spiders spawning all at ones when it comes to the ammount but if you build a good farm youll be able to grt 6500 drops in 30mins so thaz shouldnt be a problem anyways
Perfect, now I will have so much rotten flesh to trade with my villagers rather than breaking into my friends houses armed with a bow and arrow and pointing it at their heads while they give me the rotten flesh
Keep making tutorials like this Voltrox! This is so simple and effective I can't believe no one hasn't taken advantage of a style like this before. It maybe extra work but damn this is how tutorials should be! Much respect and thank you for putting the work in to help us plebs out!
@Angel u are kidding right I made that farm with cobbled deepslate and it's perfectly working and besides how can you collect so much netherite blocks when a single ingot is too much difficult to find
With this design, you also accidentally make a pretty decent disc farm. You can bait skeletons to shoot a creeper between you and him, by going under the platform. Since they already took fall damage, creepers will be instantly killed, and yield a music disc. Be careful tho because creeper can notice and start to blow you up if you are within their line of sight under the platform.
@@andreeacarpiuc8657 I think not, as long as you are close of the render distance of a mob they are going to spawn but idealy you can go AFK for more mobs
Thank you so much, I finished this in under half an hour because you told us exactly what we needed and I didn’t have skip through 8 hours of fake givaways
Great tutorial! I personally found that if I put 12 more slabs around the outside of the kill area (essentially forming a ring around the existing slabs), then I can reach all the mobs without having to worry about being too close. Because, otherwise, with just the four slabs, you can very easily get too close and trigger a creeper. Also, I ended up putting a soul sand + water elevator to take me up to the mob spawn platform since I got tired of climbing all the way. I also put a giant pool of water on the ground so I can just jump off and land safely.
Well I just put trapdoors underneath the beginning blocks of the chute, works like a charm. Do you have a solution to stop spiders from clogging up the farm though?
@@DizzyMapping I hadn't thought of that solution, that's also pretty smart too! And I haven't found a solution to implement for the spiders, but I'm considering trying something like extending the ceiling by a couple blocks higher and putting water source blocks at the top and open fence gates underneath the water source blocks. I've seen it used in spider spawner farms, but I'm not 100% certain of its efficacy. I might whip up a prototype in a test world to see if it works. If it does, I'll let you know!
@@salto6 That's what I thought too, until one ignited and nearly blew up the bottom of my farm. Luckily, I killed it in time, but it was flashing and expanding while making the lit TNT sound.
To anybody who don't want to light The caves or the mobs isn't spawning. Build it in the air about 128 blocks or 200 blocks in the air and turn your difficulty to hard.
@@cis2930 you don't have to do it 200 blocks It's 200 blocks not 20 the best one is 128 blocks so that the mobs can't spawn in the surface of the world which will reduce the rates. If you do it 128 blocks in the air the mobs will spawn int he mob farm
heres a tip: don't use solid blocks for the roof, instead use half slabs placed on the bottom half, you use half the material and you don't need to place torches up there! (also dont build this too high up in a taiga/mountain biome, the water will turn to ice and the farm will stop working.)

I have tried to take out that trap door as you said but all my mobs are still dying for some reason. Have any ideas?

Other than the *BIRCH* trapdoors :D
With this design, you also accidentally make a pretty decent disc farm. You can bait skeletons to shoot a creeper between you and him, by going under the platform. Since they already took fall damage, creepers will be instantly killed, and yield a music disc. Be careful tho because creeper can notice and start to blow you up if you are within their line of sight under the platform.

You do know creepers don't trigger if they can't see you which is exactly what the half a block space from slabs does
Well I just put trapdoors underneath the beginning blocks of the chute, works like a charm. Do you have a solution to stop spiders from clogging up the farm though?
@@salto6 Yeah um it doesn't work. The creepers kept exploding when i tried to farm.
