I only learned recently (like this year recently - it's an old game) that there's a lore reason why the Armadillo works on Sigma on X1. It's something like Armored Armadillo is the one Sigma trusts the most - and trusts that he won't betray him - so he didn't protect himself from his weapon while Sigma made himself immune to the other 7. Feel free to correct because it's such a deep cut. Thanks!

x1 was the kind of game i replayed a lot till it got too easy so the harder sequels like x3 and x6 are more fun to play now cuz more things can go wrong if you're not sharp... but you cant be sharp with the input delay in this collection
It really serves as a testament to these games' quality when you can play them *decades* after they came out and they are still fun, not even 'for their time'. I had X2 when I was a kid and that shit slapped so hard; Bangin' soundtrack, rad bosses, interesting levels. Just a solid game, straight up. I might pick it back up and try to beat it again, never could when I was little. Lovely vid as always Majin👌
Capcom in the 90s had to work very hard in all their games. Nowadays it's just in a few franchises.

I actually have almost no experience with X3 (I bought the collection for X and X4 which were the only two I’d previously played). I’m curious to see what you think of X4 as I do enjoy that one.

you can mitigate somewhat by turnning off filters and using the pixel perfect/no stretching option

@@doogies IMO X4 is just the uncontested king of the franchise. Best OST full stop and the radically different gameplay between X and Zero was lit.
Oh right, all the other games in the Collections actually improved, they have better loading times (especially X7) and overall a better feeling, for some reason the first three games got the short end of the stick because they have increased input lag and the weird screen effect you mention when its not in a specific resolution.
i loved the X streams, helped me get through the pandemic "sane".

idk if you ever played the psp version of x1, it was different and probably easier than the original game but that was my first mega man x and i loved all the cheesy voice acting and stuff in it and playing as Vile was super fun with how op he could get by the end

You could put up barrier with the full charge buster, then use the X-Buster while barrier's active, swap to other weapons AND throw a hadouken.
It was dumb in the best way possible.
