8 minutes of innuendos from the children's show Rocko's Modern Life. If you don't get a few; feel free to ask me or post a question, I'm sure someone knows as well as me. :)
Particularly the "cough, please" part, which is what doctors say when they're feeling your testicles for lumps ('cause, you know, cancer). The way he's holding Rocko's eyes at that point is practically shouting "Hi, yeah, these things are actually balls". And then, of course, there's the previous "doctor" who did the "cancer test" three times.
The funny thing about shows like this is that the only reason they no longer air is that censors think kids understand the innuendos. Some of them required even me to stop and think. No kid's gonna understand hidden meanings. Screw censorship, and long live Rocko!!!
Actually, the joke behind that is the very fact that there's a baby that resembles Heffer within the bunch of turtles and cats, which would suggest some kind of affair occurred.
"...our doggie-style bowl ride. Everyone on their hands and knees?" Viewer as a kid: Hahaha! A dog bowl ride! Viewer as an adult: Lmao! Hands and knees!
This was back when Nick was for, albeit inadvertantly, for adults as well as kids; full of wonderful innuendos and metaphors that made it such a great channel in the 90s. Today we have just all this castrated, tween-friendly crap like iCarly & Drake & Josh.
Then would you agree that it's a bit inflammatory to claim a complete dislike for the show since it contained material that clearly was intended for adults. Not to mention that the creators went through the effort of placing a veil in front of the material that the majority of children would not understand.
Rocko's modern life wasn't intended as only a kids show, but one which could be enjoyed by the parents, or independent young adults as well, similar to the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. That helps explain the innuendo. But still...it's pretty lolz.
Seems as though all of the good shows had inneuendos in them. For example, an episode Courage the Cowardly Dog (Hard Drive Courage) hinted that Courage watches pornography.
Rocko was one of my most favorite cartoons of the 90's. It's amazing what another look a decade later can reveal. P.S.: I don't get the "Math Equations" part at 0:52
One that took me a second time to catch. "Oh, Mr. Bighead, we're already playing a game." Oh, the title of that game can't be.. you know.. Spank the Monkey? lmfao.
I thought it was just a cartoon joke casue rocko was taking a eye exam and the doctor was checking his eyes in the cartoon world to see if rockos eyes were good lol thats what I always thought.
Wow I watched this at an age before comprehension and I think alot of these are exaggerations but I still can't believe some of the stuff that was in there XD
true i didnt pick up on it as a child either, but still i dont think its really necessary. im 21 and i enjoy kids material from time to time. it doesnt have to have a suggestion of adult(meaning crude humor and such) interest to be engaging for adults.
It's an aphrodisiac. Man, I can't believe this stuff was on. o.o. Well, it was the time of Ren and Stimpy....I think the last cartoon like this was Invader Zim, another great one. Ah, the good old days...
Also, in the episode where Rocko and Heifer goes to the fair, the mary-go-round has animals with sexual terms, like a beaver(slang for vagina), rooster (cock), and a snake(trouser snake, slang for penis)
you mean the one where he gets hooked up to the milking machine in the good the bad and the wallaby? do a search for heffer milk, it should still be on here.
I think you misheard the one...the guy in the commercial part says "built this palatial mansion" not "fellatio". Unless there's some other joke in that part I'm missing?
Most of those aren't even innuendos. Just blatant jokes. Some of them were innuendos though, and they were great. I liked the doctor stroking Rocko's eyeball.
I am gonna be fairly honest and tell the truth, I never EVER saw this show at all as a kid, dunno why, either we never had the channels or they didn't air in Ireland? o_O; OKay, I had seen I think like...one on UA-cam, was okay...then...when I read that RML had hidden innuendos...I was like "Oh....that why it was canelled?" Only checked them out cos one of my friends is a huge fan and...wow...the stuff they got away with...sneaky =P

this show was insane

"...our doggie-style bowl ride. Everyone on their hands and knees?"
Viewer as a kid: Hahaha! A dog bowl ride!
Viewer as an adult: Lmao! Hands and knees!
wow...there was alot more adult humor and innuendo to this show than i remembered
LOL "the other cars call him 'Fancey Fenders', term of endearment."
Adult swim should start showing this. I'm 21 and I loved every 90's cartoon on nickelodeon and kids WB
The stuff they got away with back then…I love it! Miss those days.
"Jump on our doggie-style boat ride! Everybody on your hands and knees!" I almost died laughing! lol
@1:50, they weren't even subtle about it. "Dr. LeRoy to gynecology, please", immediately followed by a door with a sign that says "Dr. Bendova".
When I was younger I had no clue that they had these references but now that I see it when I grow up I noticed them. I miss these shows.
I love how long they managed to get away with Chokey Chicken for so long and then they were able to bring it back for the movie.
"Goodnight, everybody!"
I love this reference 😊
No problem, it just so happened that I was watching that episode yesterday and I remember seeing someone ask that question lol.
Also, Ryder77: He says "the Neutering device" and the picture is of a dog minus 2 balls

Nickelodeon has the guts to pull this off 😁
wow.... that really went over my head when I was little. . .
I miss this show
Rocco's first date.
My god.... So THIS is why I'm so messed up!
hahah ROCKO WAS THE BEST SHOW EVER EVER
"Night of the shaved kittens" LMAO
They could never get away with this in todays shitty ass cartoons.
I love hidden jokes for adults. x3
You're very welcome. Happy to help. ^_^
That was a perfect explanation, thank you.
ROFL at the phone operator!!!! xD
omg so wrong hahaha
This show was more dirty and adult than Ren and Stimpy 💀💀💀
Then would you agree that it's a bit inflammatory to claim a complete dislike for the show since it contained material that clearly was intended for adults.

Dr. Bendova was an interesting one in that it’s ambiguous about whether he was actually a proctologist or an escaped mental patient.
Seems as though all of the good shows had inneuendos in them. For example, an episode Courage the Cowardly Dog (Hard Drive Courage) hinted that Courage watches pornography.
Amen to that man.
my god i had such a clean mind when i was a kid!!!!
2:39 - 3:19 So that where Zootopia got the idea for Mystic Spring Oasis.
Comes from Season 2: Episode 7. Title of the episode is "Kiss Me, I'm Foreign"
wow thanks for posting this video. so hilarious
It implies that Heffer slept with Filburt's wife.
I used to watch this all of the time.. and i don't even remember any of this haha.
HOW DAAARRE YOUU!!!!!...
funny thing is you don't realize the references til you're older
Thing is she flirted first
oh....i thought he was just grabbing rocko by the eyeballs lol
HOW did Nicktoons Network get away with so much while airing these reruns with an inital TV-Y rating?! (It's updated to TV-Y7) this is WILD!
Rocko was one of my most favorite cartoons of the 90's. It's amazing what another look a decade later can reveal.
P.S.: I don't get the "Math Equations" part at 0:52
Dog - two (base)balls
Brilliant.
lmao @ all of those...
but the last one if memory serves wasnt the lil cow baby a result of Filbert getting pissed off at Heifer that whole episode?
The cat with the hook hand 😂
they warned watch for innuendos.
can't believe this was a childrens show lol it used to play on nickelodeon
His "lower" region
I didn't get all of these jokes until I was an adult i remembered watching this when I was 9 and now I'm 39 lol
NickOtto6886: It's Charlie Adler, the same guy.
By math equations It means sex
The Female XX gene and the male XY genes being well shared
Well the elephant girl could be featured too
I think they got away with it the first time it aired, and then "fixed" the word for later showings.
You can still work this out. Change "msn" to "hotmail". Try everything you can.:-)
One that took me a second time to catch. "Oh, Mr. Bighead, we're already playing a game." Oh, the title of that game can't be.. you know.. Spank the Monkey? lmfao.
yeah i know. i heard it was chunky at first but after enabling &fmt=18 or HQ then i knew it was chokey chicken.
@pokemonrocks
Actually if you look at the features.. it has Filbert's glasses.. which means it was between Heffer and Fil-- *shutters*
I thought it was just a cartoon joke casue rocko was taking a eye exam and the doctor was checking his eyes in the cartoon world to see if rockos eyes were good lol thats what I always thought.
Of course, there were some inappropriate scenes that are only shown once on TV when it was first aired. Nowadays, it's harder to see those scenes.
This was great XD
LOL! @ 6:03, Rocko's car got raped... "Fancy fenders, term of endearment im sure" HAHAHA!
you forgot the one from carnival knowlegde where on the merry go round, the conductor is "reading" a magazine called playslug
None of the innuendo is accidental
THIS CHOKY(or may be chunky) CHICKEN WAS ERECTED IN SEPTEMBER OF '82! WTF?! (again)
This is missing the clip where rocko and Heffer are picking berries and the woods and they accidentally grab the "Berries" of a bear.
I AM THE MIGHTY KING OF WIENERS! XD
Wow I watched this at an age before comprehension and I think alot of these are exaggerations but I still can't believe some of the stuff that was in there XD

Holy shit...I had no idea, and I watched this when I was like, 5.
1:10 cmon what else could it mean?!?!? LMFAO and I can belive there are two youtube videos full of the kinda montages of the same show!!!!!
It's an aphrodisiac. Man, I can't believe this stuff was on. o.o. Well, it was the time of Ren and Stimpy....I think the last cartoon like this was Invader Zim, another great one. Ah, the good old days...
yes indeed it was lol i miss it
all of this was really funny as a kid...now as an 18 year old..this is just pure fucking hilarious! "jack all say" lmfao!
Also, in the episode where Rocko and Heifer goes to the fair, the mary-go-round has animals with sexual terms, like a beaver(slang for vagina), rooster (cock), and a snake(trouser snake, slang for penis)
... that's "palatial mansion" as in "palace like" ...
Demo-pit Jack All-You-Want
and
Night of the Shaved Kittens
nice
you mean the one where he gets hooked up to the milking machine in the good the bad and the wallaby? do a search for heffer milk, it should still be on here.
I think you misheard the one...the guy in the commercial part says "built this palatial mansion" not "fellatio". Unless there's some other joke in that part I'm missing?
no wonder i was never allowed to watch this
Now this is what ya call potato quality.
ahem..,
'oh baby, oh baby oh baby"
"Rock?"
"Mrs. Bighead?!"
that was hilarious... man, the 90's were awesome for Nick!
I STILL don't get the beaver innuendo.
Boy there is a buoy in your pants!
I don't get the one with Spunky being all horny. The only one that went over my head.
the shaved kittens huh.....
I spilled my puffies.
The other car call him "fancy fender" that's a jail rape innuendo lolz..
Most of those aren't even innuendos. Just blatant jokes. Some of them were innuendos though, and they were great. I liked the doctor stroking Rocko's eyeball.
OH BABY OH BABY OH BABY
HOW DARE YOU!!!!!
LOL
CLASSIC!

me either hahahaha, we had the best cartoons way back in the day ha
lol...we all did!!!!
Oh dear, spunky and the mop. What imagery:
Train goes into tunnel.
Spreading mayonnaise on a slice of bread.
xD
what episode has a Deliverance reference?
I, sadly, did not.
no one has it posted
Was that a Happy Tree Friends reference at 3:13 ? :O
