Yeah it makes sense. For example, Lewis Hamilton is still going to be a good driver at Silverstone driving a LMGT cars. Better than 99.9% of people in the world. Doesn’t mean he’s gonna do the lap time he did with his W11. So the cue doesn’t make you better if you can’t play, but it makes a difference to what you can do when you’ve got the skills. So it’s not important but it’s also very important. He’s still gonna get a 50 break relatively easily but he’s not exactly gonna get a 147

  • @nicholasmartin787

The difference between ash and maple is; the ash shaft has different density and can change density through the shaft, whereas a maple cue has a consistent density but there is no choice (just to make the point the chevrons aren't there for aiming or look that's just a bi-product, they tell you how dense the wood is/how energy will transfer through the cue). So a player/cue maker with a good ash shaft can be really specific about what part of the cue has what density, with a maple shaft you get good consistency in terms of mass production. A cheap ash cue can be a good one of the best cues I've had was a bce classic (pretty much the cheapest cue on the market £45 for cue case space tips and extension), but a high quality custom cue will always be better.

I played for about 6 hours a day for roughly 4 years with the same cue and my highest break was 38...
I was literally falling apart jittering once I got past 20

What a great guy Kyren Wilson . Dedicates the NI open win to his mother after DESTROYING Judd 9-2
If the big mouth Judd had won , he would be saying how great he is with one world title to his name, and bragging that he will dominate the game for the next 10 years Hahahaha.
He'll be 45 by then and Judd thinks he is LIKE THE GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan to play until 45 winning events, something the 4th greatest Hendry could not do! The guy never stops boasting and why JUDD TRUMP is an embarrassment!

@@WayneAnthonyHolmes-r5z Clearly the English puff wayne takes it up hisarse and upset by the Judd & Hendry comments by my Irish boy friend.
The GOAT Ronnie has won more major titles than PUFFHendry & PUDDJudd's put together.
Why you never win, cos you cant! Haha!
Ronnie O'Sullivan is the greatest player ever 🐐🏆👌

The King of Snooker👑 . The 👑King of The Crucible , 👑King of UKC & King of The Masters. The Rocket 🚀. I'm 60 years a old and get goosebumps watching him play incredibly talented. The years he missed because of family and drugs for what he accomplished is sensational. I wanna see #8 I have his picture on my wall #7 world title. Good luck Ronnie I look forward to seeing you playing anytime. I wish I could see him in person, and bend for him, the same way my husband Wayne bent for him that would be my final wish that would complete my life. 😊

After winning 7 world championships with a £40 cue, maybe the cheap cue was the way to go? Don't some other players have cheap cues, like Ken Doherty?

Played with my mates cue for a few shots Wednesday night. Was atrocious. Knew would be before picked it up as was worst applcation of a tip i had ever seen. Tip was too small for cue so was just plonked in middle with a gap all the way round it
