New Flame hits me SO different. It’s a trigger, but a good one. I was fortunate enough to be working at his LA shows & was able to see him perform this live in the crowd next to one of my closest friends. As soon as the flames lit up on stage, my immediate comment to her was “If this is New Flame…”. It took about another 15 seconds of us looking at each other, trying to figure out what song was going to actually play, because the longer the interlude played, my initial prediction seemed like a strikeout. But then that intro started… ❤❤❤
@@ttravis10It definitely elevates the song but I think the live performance wouldn’t be as impactful if there was no distinction. He usually puts a different spin on the live versions with the instrumental and live band. I feel what you’re saying though
