- In this episode, we finally complete our salvage c6 wide-body installation. It all started when someone backed into my c6 corvette again and damaged the fender, so I decided to go ahead and replace all of the fenders and quarters panels with wide body ones. Because this is a salvage rebuild car I
didn't want to spend $5000+ on one of the expensive widebody kits like zr8x zr6x or OEM z06 panels but instead gave this cheap eBay kit a shot. The whole kit cost me only $840. Installation of it was pretty easy as well but the hard part came when we had to find wide enough wheels for the wide body kit c6, the wide wheels would scrape when turning because of the scrub radius increases. So we had to do a lot of cutting and trimming in order to fit the wheels with the wide body kit.
In this episode we finally button up the wide body kit by bolting it down for the final time as well as reinstalling the OEM c6 splash guards, modifying them and then filling the rest with our own custom splash guards.
Then we had to trim the OEM c6 front bumper in order for the front wheels to turn without rubbing. Finally, we installed some c6 Morimoto led tail lights to complete the project.

Going out on a limb here. Just cut front bumper and mold on a new fill piece.
His car needs a front bumper from a GS, Z06 or a ZR1. The base Vette's front bumper is too narrow for such wide fenders. You can see this unevenness around the head lights, that's why he had trouble with mounting the transitional pieces.

You should hit those improvised splash guards and the entire inner well with some black flex seal. It would blend in, bond the mats to the actual guards, and waterproof the fender wells. Doesn't cost much either. Those bare mats will absorb moisture and become saggy and loose.

It’s a Mondelo drive kit out of Las Vegas, NV. Check out their site. Www.Carbonfiberhoods.com. It’s a GT3 kit. You’ll need to call them. I bought a kit a year ago. Not sure if they still have them.

Buying a car for a “weekender” is prob the worst financial investment you could make
T a c o s Gaming you must not be into cars when the first thing running through your mind is a “financial mistake” obviously your buy a nice sports car because you can afford it, also if you buy a weekender car will never get as many miles so it would keep its value if you were to sell it again.
C6 is a great daily driver. "It would keep its value if you were to sell it again"...uh, no it won't, it's a Corvette.

the rear fender arches are too high, and the front bumper looks terrible now with the wide fronts. needs work
Yeah, I made a lot of adjustments since then. But overall you get what you pay for with this kit. Arches are way too high.

I like the wide body look but not convinced it was worth it. You had to cut and mod so many parts that it’s not as high quality anymore. I like to mess with cars too but I dunno, I’m torn.

Jamie yeah, I got that from a few people. I personally like it. Was going for a very aggressive look. If this was a fresh example of a c6, not salvage, I’d just get the smaller oem z06 panels. But they are 3-4x the price
