I can relate with his interest in Japanese culture. I started teaching myself Japanese when I was 11, and when my friends stopped watching anime, reading manga, and listening to JPOP, I continued.

I always wanted to learn Japanese, but when I discovered YOHIO, he inspired me to just go for it. I was already learning Swedish, German and French, but I think that Japanese is a lot easier as it just makes real sense to me! :)
I only noticed this was in black and white when the magazines were shown, LOL.

Yohio is so strong... I am REALLY big fan! I cant wait for "Heartbreak hotel"! I have already stolen it to my mp3, and I love it! Yohio is just perfect. He didn't stop becouse of bullying, or anything. This gives me strainght. I am not gonna stop my dear hobby, japan, anymore, and it's JUST because of Yohio! Luv him!
Just like me I've liked manga, Japan etc since I was 9. Those days my friends liked it too. I'm only one left. And I'll never stop :)

Ah, samme her. Interesserer meg for japansk kultur, musikk og mote, om ikke det begynner å bli livsstil siden jeg leser manga og hører på j-rock 24/7... Har dessverre ikke mange venner som liker japansk, selv om interessen er ganske vanlig blant miljøet jeg er i. Digger Yohio! Elsker at han klarte å bli en japansk/svensk artist, og beviser virkelig at det er mulig! Liker at han tør å være seg selv.

this was very informative, i hope there's more interviews with english (at least subtitles) ^.^ you are pretty cool Yohio, but may i suggest you keep an eye on your ego though, don't let hate and resentment allow your fame to make your ego to the point of no return, it's best to keep a balance between your cockiness and humbleness, otherwise you may end up like Yngwie Malmsteen where everyone doesn't want to work with you. all i'm saying really, don't forget to keep your heart pure :)

I would probably believe that he have learnt 5 languages including swedish just because of the Swedish scholar system.
We actually have to learn our mother tounge, English and a third language mostly garman, french or spanish. Though there are some who choose a fourth language when they enter upper secondary school, so many swedes know 4 languages :)
Then he have learnt Japanese and Korean by himself. But yes he is impressive! :D

Yes but that's when you enter upper secondary school(senior high school).. most people choose to continue with their choice of language from high school in upper secondary and does that for another 3 years or chooses another one.
With that you have learned 4 languages when you finish school.
Swedish, English, 1st modern language, 2nd modern language and in rare cases a third modern language.
And FYI there are schools who offer Japanese, just like the one I attended.

I started learning Japanese when I was 13 and almost everyone who knew about it made fun of me and teased me for it. So I completely understand where he's coming from.

really you dont have to any of that in my school to pass high school all you have to do is take one language for 3 years or 2 languages 2 years and when your done with that you can decide to keep doing that language or not the only languages they have at our school is spanish, french, chinese, and latin

This is pretty crazy, he's like the Swedish Miyavi or something, except instead of bass, he shreds and wears a lolita dress... when I first happened across the pv for "SkyLimit" I scrolled down to read comments, it took a second for it to click that "Oh wow, I'm listening to someone who isn't Japanese singing Japanese and actually doing it well..."
