David, You bring up an interesting subject here, one of which plays a big part in the FP world: buying secondhand. To me, pen lovers are by definition detail people, and thus are willing to spend the time and effort going on a treasure hunt for a 'grail' pen. The devil is in the details and never so much more for a certain pen (your up-close macro photos are a standout, BTW.) I think it's wonderful to also see pens that aren't currently on the market, and need to be searched for, not discouraged. It's a big part of the beauty of our quirky fountain pen world. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I have a few Omas's. Came close to buying this pen when it was first released, loved it but couldn't justify the price then. I had the same flow issues with my Paragon, predecessor to the Milord. Richard Binder fixed mine. Many of us have had flow issues with Omas, not what one expects from a pen in this price range. But we still love the design of these Italian beauties.
Beautiful pen , is the nib slightly left oblique as on the close up its looks that way but it could be just the angle Thanks for the review and sharing your treasure . Merry Christmas
Its a truly spectacular pen. I was soooo fortunate to find a NOS in a store and they even sold it to me at a discounted price. Spectacular material, and fantastic nib. Its one of my grail pens....
Great review with personal viewpoints. I like that. I especially love your close-ups. Beautiful pen. I reckon I'm stuck somewhere between the Platinum Preppies and this Omas. My appetite most definitely exceeds my wallet. :D Merry Christmas to ya' Dave. Thanks for the reviews.
I bought one new from Oscar Braun Pens in the early 2000s and paid $495. I need to have it repaired. (Update - I repaired the pen myself and it continues to work veery well.)

Thank you, David. It certainly would be a loss to us all if OMAS were to vanish. That pen is splendid.
This is my one and only grail pen I'm dreaming of! Fantastic review

Thanks for watching...appreciate it! Merry Christmas to you too!
That is a lovely pen! I'd love to add one to my small OMAS collection someday (if I'm lucky).

O.O amazing pen and review; keep it up David!
I thought the Milord was c/c whereas the Paragon was a piston filler.
Well, it does cost as a Holy Grail.
