វណ្ណ ម៉ូលីវណ្ណ (Vann Molyvann) | ជីវិតអច្ឆរិយ

Vann Molyvann (1926-2017) was a leading architect with the most significant works of the Sangkum Reastr Niyum (“People's Socialist Community”). He has designed over 100 projects that played a major role in the modernization of Phnom Penh, as well as the creation of the Sihanoukville Seaport and other locations. Vann Molyvann, along with other prominent architects such as Lou Banhap and Mam Sophana, ushered in a golden age known as “New Khmer Architecture.” Mr. Vann Molyvann’s main achievements include the Independence Monument, the Chamkar Mon State Palace, the Chaktomuk Conference Hall, the Suramarit National Theater, the Institute of Foreign Languages, 100 Borey Housing, Mr. Vann Molyvann’s residence, and the National Olympic Stadium, which can accommodate about 50,000 people. The stadium is also open to major events such as the GANEFO and the reception of French President Charles de Gaulle. Although he passed away on September 28, 2017, his legacy still retains its immortal beauty in Cambodian architecture and in the hearts of the Cambodian people who appreciate his visionary creativity.

Great video! Please do Nhek Dim next. He was a Cambodian painter who was responsible for a lot of the old art you see of classic Cambodian singers like Ros Sereysothea and Sinn Sisamouth. I also read that in 1967, he won a student competition organized by Walt Disney. It's only fitting that he have an animation made of him!
