The tension following the Paris attacks has created an extreme sense of Islamophobia in Europe. Today, it was reported that there has been 115 Islamphobia attacks in the week. Most victims of the UK hate crimes were Muslim girls and women aged from 14 to 45 in traditional Islamic dress. I couldn't think of a more poignant time to release this video.
Listen guys, I know what everyone wants to hear and how they want it to be packaged. But I have been around the world and back over the last two years. I have seen the world is not all bright colours, and smiley vlog faces. Sometimes we learn from its harshness and bitterness, so rather than create art, which people WANT to hear I have focused on what they NEED to hear.
As to the nature of the video it is not pro-religion/pro Islamic, I have no interest to promote or encourage any religious doctrines. Anisah's Song is ANTI-HATE. This story is not to promote any agenda, it is to highlight that on a daily basis people are persecuted not only for what they believe, but being who they choose to be. Islamophobia is just one example, the persecution of innocents due to their race is another, and there are many more examples. Hate Crime is wrong and as long as we live in a world that allows this, none of us will ever be free/safe.
After the video release is settled, we hope to release "Anisah’s song" as a single, to which a portion of the proceeds will be donated to organisations helping victims of violent hate crime.

PLEASE READ!! This is something very personal to me.....
Dedicated to my younger sister. End Hate Crime!
With it just being Hate Crime UK awareness week, the niqab debate raging in Toronto and just last month 16 year old Tasneem Kabir being attacked in London for wearing a hijab. I couldn't think of a more poignant time to release this video.
The title is not indicative of the nature of the video at all, I deliberately avoided a "click bate" title as this is not work I created for viriality or gimmicks. As a matter of fact, this piece is as anti viral as they can be, the video is explicit and the subject matter is very sensitive.

+Suli Breaks Its sooo sad how people treat Muslims. People need to realise how much islam is about love and caring for your brother/sister. In fact it is so sad how people treat people who are 'different' and many times people don't even realise they are doing it.

My utmost respect to you Suli. You are different from the rest on UA-cam, the rest of social media in fact. Your content gives us what we need, not what we want. People like you who put out these messages to the public change the world. Keep doing what you do brother, because one day you will get the recognition you deserve.

My opinion differs from your's: this is not a matter of needs and wants, but rather one of understanding, one of educating individuals to keep them from making assumptions and reserving judgement on people who may seem unfamiliar to us. We may have different color skin, different faith, different views, but every person strives towards the common goal of making themself and people in their circle happy. Too bad this isn't recognized worldwide, the world would be a much more free and happy place.

The fact that you can hear the passion and drive in your voice and you can clearly see that you're not doing this for attention is absolutely beautiful. Listening to this again after watching the documentary you just released... the intro to the piece - the voicemail - just reminded me of when you said 'I have failed her' in the doco. It felt like i was listening to a completely different piece. I guess just as you dont read a really good book one time, you dont just listen to a really good poem/spoken word one time... Thankyou. Will do my best to translate into Turkish inshaAllah.

the fact that your words connect so well that my mind that it sends shivers down my spine as you suli speak some amazing truth I do spoken word myself and about democracy and motivational poetry. I was so lucky I was there at the time when I seen a woman with a scarf getting attacked by 3 men for her purse and I thought that could've been my mum and I had a friend with me and I managed to get the guys to back off and drew enough attention that they moved away and I almost lost my life first encounter with a knife but what mattered to me was helping another life and standing up for the wrong committed at the time. when I turn around turns out the person I saved was my sister real wake up call

This really got to me. I know first hand what it feels like to be racially abused because the school that I go to doesn't have many Muslims and I'm one of the only ones there. But the Jews in my school get racially abused, as do the Sikhs and Hindus. What I'm trying to say is that just stop racial abuse to anyone. Doesn't matter if you're Muslim or Jewish. We should all just get along

+Suli Breaks Followed Ben Browns link...Wow! So beautifully made! So horribly true! I don't understand the IGNORANCE of the human race! I was brought up to accept everyone for who they are. Not for what they are worth. But for what they value. What is their truth. It is the new generations that MUST teach the old that we ALL have souls. Blood. Bones. That when we colour in a picture with our crayons as children we don't just use one or two colours but an assortment. Because the world is FULL of colour. Maybe I've went off course a bit but u get what I mean. I just wish everyone did. 😔All I know, is when I'm teaching my now ten ur old daughter, I know I'll be teaching her the right way. To just be open-minded and accept EVERYONE and in turn hope she teaches others to be the same. BIG LUV SULI! I LOVE IT!!!👏👏👏👏👏😘

Suli You have shown the world what we Muslims pray for what we believe in. The hijab is seen as a threat , but the truth is that it is worn to show less skin. I was truly inspired suli thank you for being a role model and not judging a book by its cover this is a true human someone who does not judge what they see but what they feel.
