Some people will see their jobs get replaced by AI, find new jobs, and then have their new jobs get replaced by AI as well. This will be extremely discouraging to a lot of people, and by the 3rd or 4th time around, they'll end up just giving up.
Im a big fan of Neil, but Ive worked in IT my whole life. I thought the same thing as your comment. What he doesn't understand is the incomprehensible speed at which technological change will be happening going forward. no human will be able to keep up. Also, not everyone has the resources to just go to the beach. Life will get much worse for those that don't, and will be impossible to get out of that poverty. Our entire education system is absurdly slow, & needs to be thrown out and redesigned. That won't happen either.
