@itsestelarojas4713 thank you for replying. You Have been a great resource for information about navy nursing. Joining the navy nurse Corp is a goal for next year for me
Thanks for all the videos and providing this knowledge! I just got accepted into nursing school and was curious if you know any recruiters to talk to? I’m on the east coast (NC) and finding someone knowledgeable on the nursing side is pretty difficult
Hi and congratulations on getting accepted into nursing school! I do not personally know any recruiters, sorry! Maybe try looking in different areas other than your own and ask those recruiters how to get in contact with someone closer to you?
I’m hoping to apply to the NCP program next year. My question is this, my partner is currently active duty in the Navy. We plan on getting married so my question is, is the navy typically able to keep spouses together? I understand the needs of the navy come first but wondering if you’ve seen anyone in that scenario. Love these videos so please keep them coming!
It’s Estela Rojas thank you so much for your reply! This is my biggest worry! We’ll make it work no matter what but it would be great if we could end up in the same place!
@@itsestelarojas4713 my apologies. I was wondering how long did you have to wait between being recommended by the board for commissioning and confirmation of your commissioning?
I know the Nurse Candidate Program states that we need to complete 4-5 years of active duty. Do you plan on continuing your Navy career after those required years? and do you know if most navy nurses decide to continue after the 4-5 years? It really looks like they can grow even more the longer they stay. Thanks so much!
Hi! I have already done 6 years as a nurse corps officer and have a total of 16 years in the Navy (was prior enlisted). I plan on retiring. I see more nurses stay in after 4-5 years, but I also see nurses get out after their primary obligation.
I would like to asked do you need to be an nclex passer to join navy corps? Or it would e better if u were an nclex passer. Im a graduate of bsn and would like to join the navy corps. Thank you
Good afternoon Estela. I am 27 and have been practicing emergency nursing for 5 years, and of course, dove into your content as I am considering become a Navy nurse/officer. A little personal question, and I understand if you do not want to answer. Have you been able to pursue a relationship and/or build a family while being a navy nurse? I am a little worried that upon committing 5+ years serving the Navy will inhibit personal/familial goals as I’d be entering at a little older age than usual.
Hi and thank you for your question! Yes, I have been able to have a husband and children. It is difficult at times because of the time commitment needed for both my primary ICU job and my collateral duty commitments. But, you can definitely have a family and serve. Many people do.
Can you pick up a civilian job as a part time?
Yes. Some commands will let you moonlight.
