I love how Angela’s soul contains the energy of both an eight year old boy with asthma that likes the smell and taste of glue and an old Italian man reminiscing about his wife and the war. I love her dearly, she’s such a queen and my god if she’s not relatable❤️
I feel like your comment plays into the greater misogyny of why she doesn't a lot of female characters - she's admitted she doesn't feel like she can be goofy in those characters because they're female. But Angela is evidence that women are goofy inherently. Your comment should be "eight year old girl with asthma" etc. I know this is a comment section and whatever, but saying a woman is most similar to men is an underhanded compliment. Same when people call men Karens, maybe men can be dicks without being filtered through a lens of women. And maybe women can be funny without being filtered through the stereotype of a man.
@@herb_rolls i really feel this point actually! i've always loved playing role play games either pretend or through my barbies etc and even in my years past playing pretend its come into dnd when i've played it. that i have automatically chose to play male characters as the comedic characters showing how i feel more confident to be more humourous through a guy character. i think it shows how the mindset you've described gets fed into our subconscious

When I played house with my friends I was always made to play the dad, the brother or the dog cause I wasn’t a girly girl. I appreciate her being a woman in the entertainment industry being willing to play those male roles while still being feminine. I never knew she made that comment of being uncomfortable in doing so and meant nothing hurtful by it. Like I said I found it relatable and comforting as I was always put in that same box because I’m a tomboy and have always been seen in a more masculine light by my peers. I appreciate you pointing this out to me so I can fix my comment, thank you!

Honestly the deep lore being built about shayne not thinking they are funny and the potential beef that they could have feels like gold
There’s got to be something magical about Smosh that generates the perfect comedic duos. First we had Anthony and Ian, then Noah and Keith, Courtney and Olivia, Shayne and Damien, and now Amanda and Angela. They’re all funny individually, but everyone seems to have that one friend that just unlocks their chaotic humor😭❤
That or their hiring department/procedure is really good at deciphering who would work well and last around here. Ian is part of that and as a founding member, he must have a knack now for knowing who will and won't last long in the Smosh environment.

The key to these is why Damien was so good at it. You have to say the first funny thing that comes to mind that is related to (or in some way answers) the question. If you stop and think you lose the timing.

Confidence boost for Amanda on the bangs and also a true story: I’m 30 and still close with my mom. I have been slowly showing my 63 year old mom Smosh, and I explain who each person is.
