I love this song, I played this when I was in high school back in the 90's and it was our favorite song. I was in the third row back then and absolutely loved my parts !!! Third Row baritone sax !!
Our band played this piece. It’s my favorite piece I’ve ever played, one thing to remember when playing this one is dynamics are HUGGE!! They really add to the piece and make it that much more immersive
I got this just today and I'm gon panic over the fast flute part and I dunno if my band is going to play this at the holiday concert cos the concert is just next week
Practice, don't stop practicing! You can do it, if you believe in your instrument and yourself, know you have what it takes!!! Also, you picked the flute for a reason and up felt like it was your instrument of liking, now perfect it, give it your all!
Lmao I saw the flute part and looked at my director like “what’re you doing to me” only having 11 people in intermediate band for 7th and 8th graders and me being the only flute then. With a bunch of positive reinforcement I think I did great in the concert!🤞🏽💖
@@proniaantolia9568 you're the only flute in your band?? Sweet Jesus! I have eight other players including me and without them I'd be a shaky mess. We were going to play this piece along with some other ones for the spring concert(April 23rd)but it got canceled. For being in a seventh and eighth grade band, your band must be outstanding! I'm in my freshman year of high school(9th grade) and at first it was difficult but now I actually know what I'm doing. It's hard being the only flute, especially with how much air you'd have to put out to make yourself heard. Keep doing what you're doing cos you're killin it!
@@manishdinakaran2946real, our middle school band is now “nationally recognized” and I’m pretty sure I heard this for our varsity bands first concert this year or last year
Damn freaking corona ruined this piece and I’m a freshman and we got this piece on Friday and I was trumpet 1 at the Time and now I’m trumpet 3 my band teacher handed me trumpet 1 and he took it away curse corona
Potato :3 we played it in a special band for out county, i play saxophone and clarinet but I played sax for the special band and they have the melody abd it is so lit
Sounds like the intonation needs to be worked on. And the trumpets need to not be blare so much when they first come in. When my band performed this in competition we made 1s. It's a difficult piece for middle school band, but with lots of practice it can be performed perfectly.
school conductors need to realize that there's a specific reason a piece only has a certain amount of copies for each instrument. you dont need a million flautists. you dont need a hundred trumpet players. if your band size is too big, you need to porportionately adjust the volume, or move people to other instruments, or they sit this performance out. a lot of school concert performances are PAID performances, i wouldnt pay for my eardrums to bleed, thanks have part battles to keep the good players in, and the poor ones motivated to improve.

The number of people getting up to take pictures or filming annoys me. So disrespectful. SIT DOWN AND WATCH/LISTEN TO THE PERFORMANCE!

Amazing sound! I'm trying to get my band teacher to get us to play this song, but he's not too sure cuz he thinks it too hard.
I play flute btw.
I play flute and I'm in grade 7. My music teacher in senior band is letting us play it and i will admit it's challenging but I loveeeee it lol

Low-key sounds like something Beethoven would actually say.
🤔
You have to include everyone and plus they cant force someone to sit oug or switch instruments
Ludwig van Beethoven there aren’t even that many flutes or trumpets in this band and plus you can’t make people sit out of the performance
exactly, sometimes cutting parts is necessary LOL. it happens all the damn time in my band.

Played it good but the band speed up from the start
Too fast
This band is so sick it needs prescription medicine.
