My version of Black Bean Burgers: Cook some chopped spinach, grated carrots and grated onions in a little oil and garlic. Mash a can of sodium free (or rinsed) black beans (or any bean) and mix veggies, twoish tablespoons of breadcrumbs, an egg (we do a flax egg because my girl is allergic to eggs), and whatever spices you like! I did paprika and a little chilli. Patty them up and cook on 400 degrees for about 25 minutes! I added a little cheese on top to serve. Do any variation of veggies or seasonings to make it your own or mix the flavor up. I just kinda threw everything together and it worked great!
Banana pancakes: Blend dry oats (or use oatflour) add a banana, (oat)milk and cinnamon and vanilla if you like and Blend until smooth. If it’s too runny wait a little so it’s thickens up or add some flaxmeal. Take a pan and add coconutfat (or any other unflavored) pour in mixture in individual pancakes bake until golden. Serve with fruits or plain 🍓🥜🍑
Mushroom and ham eggy bites. Fry some finely chopped mushrooms in a little bit of oil, mix this and finely chopped ham with beaten egg and bake in a greased muffin tray until the egg has set.
He does a spoon so well my 2 year old daughter can't even do that lol. But we are working on the spoon she's a I like to use my hands type of girl haha.
That sweet potato lunch looks so good! I'm definitely going to try that (thought maybe without the apple cider vinegar haha, not my thing). So I don't do BLW. My son started finger foods at 9 months after several months of purees, but I love these videos anyway since he's now fully on solids. And your chewing tip a month or two ago was SO helpful. If I tell him to chew, he'll make the hand chew motion and starts to chew better. Thank you!
You can’t even really taste the ACV! It just adds a little sharpness and helps everything blend together. I’d definitely recommend not skipping it! But your call of course 💛
how did you get him to chew?? my 11 month old swallows almost everything whole still, she just doesn't get the chewing.. i'm not sure if tis bc she still only has two teeth but i feel a bit limited on what i can feed her still bc i'm terrified of her choking 😖 also, i never thought to put peanut butter on those teething wafers! ty for the video i always love your content! 🖤
It can be so hard to get them to chew! Something I used to do when working in daycare, and I think Megan mentioned this once in an earlier video, but if you eat with them and do REALLY dramatic chewing with your mouth open then they can learn by watching you (: Hope this helps!!
Best tip for shredding chicken is use a kitchen hand mixer if you have one. Changed my life and is so so fast. Just plop the cooked chicken in a bowl and turn on the mixer. Shreds in seconds!
How many months is he now? He’s so sweet! My little guy just turned 1 about two weeks ago and we have been exploring some more self feeding with the spoon! He sometimes puts food on the spoon with his hand instead of trying to scoop. Lol.
How do you get over the choking fear? I hold back for my 7 month old because I’m terrified. My son also shovels it in so that doesnt help lol. Rowan is so cute! Good job mama 🤍
Well after months of him eating and actually choking only once that I can remember, we don’t even think about it anymore. He gagged a lot, but learned how to take smaller bites and “chew” more before swallowing.
Thank you for sharing! What a sweet baby. This was very helpful for me as I am trying to navigate solids and weaning milk with my one year old. Also your pajamas! So cute! Where did you get these?!
What’s your favorite BLW recipe? Let’s all expand our repertoire together!

Rowan is such a cutie! And it seems like he has so much hand control. Where is your blue speckled mixing bowl from?

Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer to shred chicken will save you so much time! Its honestly the best kitchen hack ever hahaha
I’ve tried that but it doesn’t get fine enough to be safe for Rowan with the mixer we have. Great for adults though!
@@MeganAcuna Ohhh true... Well that stinks.
Food processor does well too
U r soo cute dear

@@Matt_Acuna Omg, how did it happen? My baby is 10 months old, we do BLW but we are kind of stuck on the same soft foods I know he handles well :)
I would love to de time stamps and also, how long did you cocked those sweet potatoes?
Loved this video, Rowan is such a cutie and the three of you make a wonderful family!! Greetings from Italy❤️
