Dr. James! You're truly a blessing! Every single video of yours has been super-informative and has personally helped me find answers for various issues I've faced while working out. Thanks a million and keep this going! The best fitness channel on UA-cam
Your presence and your workouts are such a joy, they're truly transforming our bodies and our relationships to the way we treat ourselves, at least that is true for me :) Endlessly inspired by you, thank you so much for doing this all for free James!
Hey James, you always come up with fabulous educational contents. i am never even aware of the necessity of training my Toibiaris Anterior, thanks for sharing/
James I just want to thank you for all your videos. They helped me to be more knowledgeable. Especially, i don't look like a newbie anymore at our gym. I can now bench more than my body weight and have a healthy routine of work out set that works for me. Thanks again and can't wait for another video.
The amount of valuable information this man is giving the world for free is astonishing. You can tell he is living in his purpose. To spread critical information for improving physical/mental health across humanity. Dr James, you are truly making the world a better place and empowering people all over to want to become healthier in all facets. God bless you James!
You have been the only person whose workouts I’ve been able to follow on a very consistent basis in the long term. They are all so relaxing, but challenging. I have high anxiety and a stressful job, and fitting in a workout can be overwhelming, but I genuinely look forward to my time with you James. I don’t “have to” workout, I “get to” when following your videos.
Fabulous video. When any person runs up to their endurance limit, something has to give first. For some people, it's their lungs, or maybe their calves give out first. For me, it's my Tibialis Anterior. So I have been looking for a way to direct target this muscle. I will try these exercises across carpet to ease pressure on my heels. Thanks a lot James
I experienced pain in this muscle on my left leg. I used to run all the time and believe I over did it. Having gone back to running recently after months of rest it pained me again. I don't even get that tired during the run, the rest of my body feels like it can continue for much longer.
Excellent information! Ive been doing TA activation exercises for a while, my right TA is considerably underactive compared to my left and I could not get them to match up. The form tip of curling the toes and keeping the foot inverted changed everything!
Hi James. Thanks for this exercise. I already have plantar fascitis and have pain in my heels when I try to walk on them. Would it be advisable for me to do this exercise while my plantar issue has already flared up? Thanks for any guidance.
Thanks for the video. Does sore/weak shins cause my feet smacking. The tibialis anterior muscles are fatigued, so I am unable to lift/pull or keep toes dorsi flexed with each step. Hence, the foot just uncontrollably smacks down"
I have to walk 20mins from home to school, and if I'm walking a bit faster then I'm used to, my right tibialis anterior starts to hurt. First a little bit, but then in 3-5 minutes the pain becomes so intense, I can't even lift my ankle to step. I just drag my foot 'til the university. When I stop it needs 'bout 10 minutes to calm down, and all is back to normal?
Sounds a lot like anterior compartment syndrome to me. The longer walking strides as you walk faster will have you actively dorsiflexing the ankle more, using the tibialis anterior muscle, which is what sounds like is struggling: Please see a physio and get this checked.
This helps prevent shin splints as well strengthening the tibialis anterior correct? EDIT: Just watched the whole video and answered my question lol Thanks James! Makes perfect sense.
Great video, I have a lot of pain with my tibialis recently and my guess is because I’ve worked my calf muscles too much and now I’ve got muscle imbalances constantly pulling my tibialis, is that most likely the case?
It is possible - muscle imbalance, calves were too strong so it would be flexing the opposite muscle (the Tibialis) too much, kinda like if your biceps are too big with no tricep it’s hard to straighten your arm.
Hey the toe stretch really good for me. I have had foot and knee issues for 14 years and was pleasantly surprised that I felt muscles activate i hadnt felt in years. Thank you so much, i feel so grateful that i can get this sort of information for free ❤🙏🙏
Thank you this was very helpful.. Do you have anything on a ruptured tendon.. I have an anterior tibulous tendon ruptured at the ankle It has retracted.. Just went for MRI.. Glad I found you a lot of helpful information.
Thanks so much, have you seek medical advice for your ruptured tendon? Do you need surgical intervention for it to be repaired. I had torn rotator cuff tendons and they have been surgically repaired. I was out of action for 3 months. Hope you get better soon. Thanks again for your kind words

I'd avoid this one it your heels are already giving you pain. The last thing I want you to do it compound the issue. I hope you're healed soon!

Thanks, not sure i know what you mean :)
