One of my Favorite things of this show is when Griffin and Travis start a question and they’re ping ponging ideas and goofs off each other and Justin stays silent until he comes up like 90 seconds in going “what.... if....” and I brace myself for the next three and a half minutes

on the subject of the biopic debate in that there ad: biopic is actually a shortening of the phrase 'biographical picture', not 'biography' and 'picture', so the pirate's definitely wrong.
goatisdemen But “biographical” and “biography” are pronounced the same way re: bio, and thus the pirate’s pronunciation is still viable.

A shortening of “biography picture” would be “bi-ah-pic.”
A shortening of “biographical picture” would be “bi-uh-pic.”
The word is actually pronounced “bi-oh-pic.”
So, there’s an inconsistency in pronunciation in all three wherein a new pronunciation is created with each new word.
@@conner.j.a.wilson damn. i guess 'bio' is consistently pronounced with the long o, so the 'bi-oh-pic' pronunciation is the one i'll always be biased towards. also, this entire conversation reminds me that english has a lot of contradictions and is a very silly language.
