His tears were about being found out, embarrassment and guilt about his parents having to hear about his awful behaviour. He’s not quite the perfect blue eyed boy in his parents eyes and that is enough to make him emotional. His self control and repetitive interruptions demonstrates him being quick to anger and refusal to answer important questions are not what you want in a Supreme Court judge. Sorry you just don’t have what it takes for a life time appointment judge.

Depends on what the actual defining characteristics of good Republicans are. We tend to assume as self-evident that those are all positive character traits.
But does that need to be the case?
The Nazi party was initially widely thought of as a most respectable party. A few years later, even the term "good GERMAN" was considered to be an oxymoron.

He was, and we now know from his outbursts IS, a political activist. For years, the GOP talking point has been that here should be 'no activist judges' on SCOTUS. Based on that, alone, his name should be withdrawn. He IS a political activist and an operative who was rewarded with a judicial position for services rendered and has NO business on the court. He does not have a judicious mind, nor a judicial bearing or the appropriate temperament.

So he is o.k being uinvestigated 6 times but not if the 7th is about something he is guilty of? Al Franken stepped down with dignity for less, and never said it destroyed his family. www.ncronline.org/news/politics/ncr-today/president-trump-shouldnt-be-nominating-supreme-court-justice
"'First of all, proper procedure was not followed in the case of President Obama’s nominee in 2016. With nearly a year left in his presidency, the Republican-controlled Senate refused to give Obama’s nominee a hearing. His nominee, Judge Merrick Garland, was in fact a moderate judge who deserved every consideration.
With an election at hand in a few short months, this same Republican Senate seems to have no difficulty in moving ahead with a nominee now that there is a Republican president.
I believe the main issue, however, is that this president is under investigation. Several matters are pending in that investigation that could find their way to the Supreme Court for resolution. No one in this country should be able to choose individuals who may find themselves deciding cases that could either exonerate or convict them.
Yet it appears President Trump has picked an individual whose positions are favorable to him. Of the four finalists for the position, the candidate he chose seems to be the one most likely to protect him.
Bottom line: This president should not select another nominee to the Supreme Court until the Russia investigation is completed. We went more than a year with only eight justices on the court. We can certainly wait until there is a resolution to the current investigation.
It is of course possible that Brett Kavanaugh, the president’s nominee, may continue to be the nominee however the investigation is resolved. He may even be the choice of some future Republican president. That is fine, but in the meantime, it should not be tolerated for this president to have a hand in determining the individual who may decide his fate. That in no way represents appropriate American jurisprudence.
Finally, if the process moves forward despite these concerns, the nominee must commit to recuse himself from any and all matters that come to the court regarding the Russian investigation. If he is unwilling to make that commitment he should not receive a positive vote from the Senate.
The latest indictments emerging from the Special Counsel’s office make clear that the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election is alive and well. The probe is serious and is getting closer to determining what if any role this president and his top campaign officials may have had in election interference. The notion that the president can select his own judge who could squash a subpoena or permit him to pardon himself is unacceptable.

Because the FBI investigation will bring up nothing new? Because the FBI cannot convict people? Because there is not a case to begin with (an accusation alone is not a case)? Because all four witnesses have already come forward and said Ford was lying even her life long friend? Because she can't give a date, time, place or a lick of evidence for the serious crime allegations she is throwing at him? Because she delayed the hearing because she is "scared" of flying but then admits she rides planes all the time for vacations proving she is a liar? Because when somebody accuses someone of a crime, the burden is on them to prove it happened? Because Ford never answered anything except to say, "I don't know"? Because Kavanaugh DID answer everything, had dates and times and calendars for the things he did in that time frame? Because the witnesses back him up? Because dozens of people have come forward and said he wouldn't do this? Because Ford giggles, laughs and smiles during this supposedly traumatic hearing? Because her "polygraph" only had 2 questions which she took on the day of her grandma's funeral and prepared for hours before answering? Because the last FBI investigation has been going on for 2 years with Trump with millions of dollars spent and has gone nowhere? Because the FBI will "investigate" right up until elections so the democrats have a chance to get the majority?
      Well, take your pick!

Feinstien also carefully avoided answering the question by looking back at her staff and asking "did we leak? uh uh...they are saying no". I would have asked her again if she personally had any knowledge of the letter or the information contained in the letter being leaked. Ford did not want this. The FBI should investigate that leak. If Ford's attorneys were involved in leaking the letter they should be disbarred for going against the best interest of their client.

One point that may be lost in this process is this - the court justices WORK FOR US, the PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES (at least they are supposed to). I think we sometimes forget that.
We have every right to expect that federal judges will be fair and impartial and independent, but independent doesn't equate to being temperamental, vindinctive and unaccountable. A judge that is so temperamental and vindictive, although he may be independent, is not a judge that we - the people - should accept, nor expect, to make decisions that are in the best interests of the people, on behalf of the people.
Mr. Kavanaugh's refusal to be fully vetted (not willing to be investigated by the FBI as some of the people's representatives wanted) and his POOR TEMPERAMENT during the nomination process, can only lead a rational person to conclude that Mr. Kavanaugh was/is an unsuitable candidate to serve as one of our justices.

It's interesting that he thinks it's a common thing to black out from alcohol at least at a young age. I drank heavily at times in high school and after, but never blacked out. And although plenty of young people have, not everyone does. It's not something that is exactly normal - maybe not uncommon - but not a normal experience done by all. Seems to me that he has convinced himself that drinking to black out is just a normal thing all people do here and there. Kind of thing a delusional alcoholic would tell themselves.

Out of desperation, Dems’ _new litmus test_ is to put the nominee through a litany of ENDLESS, DEEPLY PERSONAL allegations *no matter how ridiculous* - treating him GUILTY _until_ PROVEN INNOCENT...
combined with _constant_ barrage of Democrat bullying

Sure doesn’t sound or look like a measured approach that we should expect from a Supreme Court judge. He knows that he is not in a court and he knows that his integrity needs to be above any doubt whatsoever. Not reasonable doubt, ANY doubt. There is certainly doubt from at least one credible witness. That should be enough. He won’t be charged with a criminal matter, so he should simply go back and live out his life as a free person. But he should not sit on the Supreme Court for life making decisions that can have such a vital impact on America.

Notice as soon as Klobuchar said the word "alcoholism" Kavanaugh twitched? And another, sniff reaction, when she said her dad is 90 and sober. A mention of his college roommate, SNIFF. When she said truthfulness, he looked like he had a bout of indegestion. When she said, you said sometimes you had too many drinks - BIG SNIFF. He seems to be adjusting his vision as he looks around settles on something to focus on, and is his lips (as skinny and nearly invisible as they are) are persed so tight, his eyes widen and then return to normal, frequently. Like, what is with this guy? I will say this, when George HW Bush said on TV, "Read my lips. No new taxes", I yelled at the TV and said, "WHAT LIPS? YOU DON'T HAVE ANY LIPS?" Not long thereafter, George HW Bush raised taxes on Americans (because Reagan had left us in a bad way that became a deep recession, but not as bad as the recession George Dubbya Bush left for Pres. Obama to clean up). And, the lesson from that is? Don't trust anyone who doesn't have lips.
Okay, so this big, moist, nervous-acting baby judge wants an answer from a Congresswoman about her drinking? And then a "Nor do I" as he twists in his seat and sits back arrogantly with his chin up like he just won a chess game. What is wrong with this guy???
Yep, he is a kegger. He lied through all of this. And, when he flipped out screaming and crying and having a fit in his chair, he should have been removed from the chambers in a straightjacket. I hope the walls in his office at the Extreme Court are padded, and no sharp objects are allowed in there.
Amy Barrett has got to be the most dishonest of them all, however. But, Kavanaugh's communication about how Roe is settled, and went into detail about it being settled, really shows the hypocrisy in him, voting to end Roe. At least, that is what it appears to be from the leaked document, that is so ammatuerishly written in chaos and backing it up with testimony from either people from anciet times (lol) and from another judge on the Sup.Ct. It is chaos and makes little sense. What they did was, decide to end Roe, and then tried to come up with ways to do it. Other rulings they have made should be looked at closely, especially take time ot read the dissenting opinions of Judge Sotomayor as she doesn't hold back and clearly spells out why the right-wingers on the Court were wrong in their Opinions - still professional, but she is very clear and will flat out say they were wrong and then prove how they are wrong. This Court is a shame, an embarrassment, a blight on this Democratic Republic, as is the entire GOP/RNC, NRA, PACs and Super PACs - they all need a good shake-down, clean up and toss out event to occur or America is destined to become lost and oppressive and not a trustworthy partner with other countries for any purpose. Canada and Mexico will fly around the US instead of over the US when they visit each other.

You know, the FBI guy that got fired for emails, and Agent Comey, BOTH were tightly controlled, terse, professional men who hardly blinked during the toughest part of their congressional interviews. This guy goes off, kind of incoherent, stumbling all over himself to try defending himself while avoiding slipping up and admitting something critical. He gets panicky, and falls back on talking points that (very noticeably) Trump or his cronies have schooled him on: most notably bringing up conspiracy to destroy him, conspiracy to get "revenge" for Hillary Clinton, and anger at Trump for the outcome of the election. Listening to him talk, he sounds too much like a man with something to hide and he's dodging and resisting every motion to investigate. WOW!
To confirm this so-called judge as a Supreme Court Judge is so much Republican bulldozing that I'm deeply disturbed about the treasonous behavior of ALL those who sit on the right! It used to be that Republicans weren't a gaggle of red-faced apoplectic fools trying to outshout each other about affrontery and conspiracies and revenge. They were respectable, even if they were on the right. I remember those days very well. They are NOTHING like the chattering monkey-fest of crazy I've seen in these hearings. Think of the women dear to you in life. Those women and girls you cherish, and who you have only love or respect. Now think of a guy like this, who can't speak CATEGORICALLY that he would support an FBI investigation; imagine him assaulting that woman or girl, and then lying about it. Just think about it. Doesn't it seem far too much like the things he's using as defensive statements are EXACTLY the kinds of things you'd expect a guilty man to use? That Beach Ralphing refers to his "sensitive stomach", and that he was never one to "pass out drunk" even though he admits "falling asleep" while drunk?? He made it pretty clear he likes beer, a lot, so it's not all that hard to see him as a liar about his behavior at parties.
Can a man learn from his mistakes? Sure. A man can, but not someone who has something he's hiding, something he's ashamed of, in his past. Proper investigation is the way to come to truthful, ethical conclusions, but Kavanaugh is not willing to call for that. Instead, he hides behind the cowards in the Republican party who can't stand the harsh light of truth and evidence. Even the Bar Association is disturbed about his behavior, and they might even step in regarding his license to practice law. Even if they don't it's very worrysome that the Bar Assoc. would be rumbling about one of their own, since it's the reputation of that organization and their sanctioning of someone as a qualified legal professional that's on the line.
