Vainakh people are the descendants of nakh tribes, the nakhs are indigenous peoples native to caucasus. Before the Russian-Caucasus war called “Caucasian War” in the 17-19 centuries, they were a lot of nakhs ethnicities, but today only 3 nations are left, Chechens, Ingushes and Batsbi. They speak 80% same language and have same culture. Chechens and Ingushes are Muslims, Batsbis are Orthodox Christians. In nakh language the terminology of nakh means “people” because they claims to be Noah descendants and people or ethnicities are called “nakh” in their language. And they called themselves Vainakh , “vai-vay” means “our” nakh means “people” so Vainakh means “our people “. So Vainakh englobe Chechens Ingushes and Batsbis.
