Miriam Margoyles and Joan Plowright should have been nominated for Academy awards for their performances of older Italian and Yugoslavian women, respectively. The way they depicted them is amazing. Margoyles does a better impersonation here than you could hope to get, let alone from a non Italian person. And Plowright is hilarious, hilarious as Mama Nadja (which incidentally, is actually a swear word in some parts of Italy).
I love his mom we need more moms like this who put there boys in check no matter there age. n i love how she hits him then she comforts him n then starts again. so funny
Love this movie, this scene, her performance and these comments! Besides her delivery and timing, i liked subtle things like her clutching her coat closer when Lacey walked by.
