Perfect ending. A woman's empowerment can come from many different sources. Ending your pain through divorce is valid. Healing your pain through the assertion of your worth and forgiving those who have hurt you is valid too. There are many routes to finding your power as a woman and this ending is as feminist as any other. Wonderfully done.

But it’s important to also mention that everyone else wanted to fix the situation too, and were open to forgiveness and changing themselves. Had the other characters like her Mami, and Aswad specifically hadn’t changed and realised what they did to Mehreen she wouldn’t have been able to make this decision so lightly to forgive and forget. Definitely a unified effort from all rather than just one sided by Mehreen. She’s not forgiving and forgetting without seeing change in front of her (which is expected in our society that you forgive everything and continue to tolerate until the day you die which is something Qurat Naqvi underneath your comment is implying with aaj ki aurat) - in this drama all the other characters are also realising their ways, accepting their mistakes and asking for forgiveness from her but MOST OF ALL are rectifying their behaviour and changing it, which is the most important part of it. That’s the *key* difference. A good message in the end that things can be resolved even after such bad abuse and torture they did to her by self reflection, asking for her forgiveness and making the effort to change. She has a big heart, but they also have a bit of a heart to realise they did wrong whereas people are not that willing to admit their wrongs these days and then to correct themselves and ask for someone’s forgiveness with the intention to never commit that evil again against them, not many have the ability to do that, hence things are never resolved… Take it like a drama because things are never fixed in the ways a drama show, it’s a fairytale ending where everyone all of a sudden changes and realised they’ve been doing wrong, not a realistic ending where a human has too much of a ego to even realise they’re doing wrong.

After a long time a drama has ended in 22 episodes only, just like Pakistani dramas in past. Over all a very thoughtful and thought provoking play. Touching some real serious issues faced during upbringing of children and impact of elders's behavior on mental health of children even after becoming adults. My most favourite bit of this drama was when Mehreen was hospitalized and the psychologist gave a piece of mind to Aswad, which must be considered by all the couples.

میں آج پہلی بار یہ محسوس کیا کہ یہ پہلا ڈرامہ ہے جو ناول سے زیادہ اچھا فلمایا گیا ہے کیونکہ ناول کا ایک الگ aura ہوتا ہے میں عمیرہ احمد کی مداح ہوں مگر ناول میں بہت سی چیزوں کی کمی تھی اختتام نامکمل سا تھا مگر ڈرامے نے سارے گلے دور کر دیئے ڈرامے کی سب سے خوبصورت بات کے کوئ بھی٪ 100 اچھا یا برا نہیں ہوتا ہم سب میں اچھائی اور برائی ہوتی ہے بس برا کرنے کے بعد وقت پر احساس ہو جانا بڑی بات ہے مہرین کی زندگی مشکل تھی مگر پھر بھی اسے احساس ہوا کہ سب بہتر ہو سکتا تھا اور مشعل اس کا وہ آخری وقت میں دل پلٹ گیا اور اس نے سب کا دل جیت لیا کہ وہ بری نہیں تھی بس حالات برے تھے تربیت بری تھی اچھائی آخر غالب آ ہی گئی بس نقصان جو ہوا وہ اس نفرت کے مرہون منت تھا کچھ نا کچھ تو کھونا تھا نفرت دامن خالی کر دیتی ہے اور دل غم سے بھر دیتی ہے

Regardless of the MANY little flaws, this project was Mahira Khan’s ship! She managed the helm with such authenticity; we felt every tear that Mehreen shed, every sarcastic smile, every trembling grimace. What a performance!

I won't fully agree with mahira's acting in this drama because it was at some places a bit too much than needed. As long as story is concerned plot was well knitted no flaws with dialogues and even with the plot. Mahira being the lead in this drama was a mistake. Character could have been played by a much younger actor only then it could have been relatable. Overall drama was great apart From what have been aired by some channels.
I lost half of my body weight through tears because of this drama. Seems like all actors of this serial were born to play just these roles.

This was my first serial of Mahira Khan and her acting made me love this drama… despite a good ending it has left me depressed.. I am from 🇦🇪, and frankly, Pakistani drama is not very popular in my country or among the Gulf countries, but Pakistani drama has outperformed many other dramas in telling realistic, beautiful and socially influential stories, and it should get its right to fame.
