    Excellent video.
    The IRS is almost always easier to deal with if you are trying to comply with the tax laws than it is if you are trying to run away from them or thwart them.

    • @LoganAllec
      @LoganAllec  Рік тому +8

      Yes! And for that reason we always recommend people not ignore their IRS problem and get in compliance (at least filing compliance) as quickly as possible. In most cases, the IRS won’t even entertain a negotiation until that is done.

      There ARE NO tax "LAWS". Title 26 is what the IRS quotes as the law but Title 26 is Prima Facie...color of law and can be rebutted with prior UNREPEALED ACTS OF CONGRESS. 😊The UNREPEALED ACT OF CONGRESS is 26 CFR 1.0-1 paragraph (d) which says TAXABLE years began December 31 1953 and ENDED AUGUST 16 1954!!! Let that sink in...... TAXABLE YEARS ENDED 69 YEARS AGO!!!!! This was passed INTO law AS law by the 83rd Congress on August 16 1954. So why are we so conditioned to file and "pay" an income tax that died/expired 69 years ago?!!.....by LAW....not some damn IRS. "rule!!" THINK ABOUT THIS....!!!

    Acceptance: the only way to quiet the claim and discharges the claim immediately. Creates no controversy, no argument and you regain title. A charge is simply a claim on title. You are the title.

    My boyfriend didn't file taxes for a while and then we start filing taxes couple years ago and the first year they said they took what he would have had for stimuluschecks and applied it for his back taxes last year he owed money when we filed just because he had a self-employment sort of gig and one of his Works didn't take out the extra that we'd asked them to and then this year he was supposed to get a refund but when I went to check it it said it was applied to back back taxes so then I was able to get into his account for the idemia thing that says he owes 12,000 + 1000 penalties + 5000 interest from 2012 didn't file that year and he didn't even make that much money anyways thank you for this video

      You should determine when that 2012 tax debt will fall off. Call the IRS and ask when the CSED is. That will drive a lot of decisions about how to approach that debt.

    • @LoganAllec
      @LoganAllec  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi! It shouldn't matter unless there's something on your 2022 taxes that would affect your 2023 taxes. That said, since 2022 taxes were due last April, while 2023 taxes aren't due yet, penalty and interest are accruing on whatever you would owe for 2022 right now (but they aren't for 2023 yet other than a potential underpayment of estimated tax penalty if you didn't make estimated tax payments), so if you had to pick, I would say file and pay 2022 ASAP to limit penalties and interest as much as possible! In the *vast* - and I mean *vast* majority of cases - someone who simply didn't file their tax returns for a few years will not be facing criminal charges, though it is technically a federal crime under Internal Revenue Code § 7203. Best thing for them to do is to file the back tax returns and get back in the tax system.

    If I file my newest return first is it possible the IRS will use that against me and accuse me of fraud knowing later returns with possible penalties are still in my possession?

    • @LoganAllec
      @LoganAllec  Рік тому +1

      Probably not as long as you get in compliance with the other returns shortly after filing your newest one. That said, you may not have to file all of them, and it may in fact be advisable to not file all of them for reasons I stated in the video.

    LOGAN, what about filing EXEMPT?? I live in SoCal and work for IHSS and I am a live-in provider, so I filed EXEMPT in 2017, as we were told to. But do I then NOT have to file every year?? And also, on my paycheck stubs, they don't take out ANY taxes. I only pay my health insurance and that is ALL THAT SHOWS on my check stubs along with my hours and pay. Is that ok? Or is my work screwing me over?? I am so confused!! PLEASE help. THX!

My mom had identity theft paid off but still think what they owe is too high. How will this affect them from I?

    PLEASE HELP!! i have to do crypto taxes from last year. I have tons of transactions.. do i need to report all transactions on 8949 if i had an overall loss of 300 dollars?

    • @LoganAllec
      @LoganAllec  Рік тому +1

      You need to report because the IRS doesn't know your basis. We currently have a client who is being audited for the 2017 tax year for crypto transactions. Had an overall loss on his crypto but over $1,000,000 in gross proceeds...he did not report...IRS knew his basis because his transactions were through Coinbase, which reported transactions on 1099-K (Coinbase used to report on 1099-K)...IRS selected him for audit because they saw $1,000,000 in gross proceeds on the 1099-K with no idea of his basis.

    Actually, if you don't file one year, the IRS will NOT ALLOW YOU to file again. Ask me how I know lol. Was told by a CPA that the IRS files a tax return for you in any case so it doesn't matter. I just always pay extra. Haven't filed since 2017 and have NEVER gotten a notice from the IRS. Probably will Never file again unless it affects my Social Security in a decade when I retire.
