Interesting technique. Have seen on UA-cam a video putting the vaseline through the stencils onto the Gelli plate....this also works. Good fun seeing you two !!

You can mix it the Baby Oil and Vaseline and paint it on your plate.

This was such a fun video! Don’t know if I’m ready for this vasoline experiment. I tend to bungle things up, so I’ll wait until I feel more confident. It seems like a good idea for adding a subtle stencil print without a texture paste, but couldn’t you achieve the same result with paint? Thanks for sharing.

OOhh! And I just discovered more sticky mats for diamond painting out of what seems like the same material, you can get six tiny ones , 14 cm x 8 cm for about $6 (USD)

I can't see why not. Froyle put the Vaseline straight onto the plate and it worked.
Yes I’m sure it can, usually stencils are a part of a much larger whole for an artwork, and they are changed from the original design, but I don’t know the actual law about this, cheers
Does it seem when you use the wet wipes that the paint smears?
No I haven’t found that, but the Vaseline is messy!! Cheers
Instead of leaving your stencils to sit there and dry, why not stamp them on a scrap piece of paper and press down to get off any residual paint? Then you can use these pieces of paper in your collages too! Better for the Environment, and less waste. 🙏🌺❤️

You wipe the Vaseline off, so give it a good wipe with baby wipes & it should be ok 👍🏼 cheers

I can't see why not. Froyle rubbed the Vaseline straight onto the plate and that worked well.

Don’t see why not, we use baby oil on the plate to clean it.
If you really hated Vasoline, you wouldn't even have any. I don't. It grosses me out. (So does Noxema.) It does, however, have its uses, even in the studio.

@morningdewgarden7432 it works great through stencils. Even without a gel plate, clear gesso through a stencil. Dry, spray inks , watercolors or fluid acrylics onto book text, sheet.music, etc.
Why not apply the Vaseline with a sponge? You don’t need much and it would be late messy. Great idea 🤣
