As a biotechnological engineer I can say it is really great and satisfying, that there are such researches and developments that are facing with issues like algae bloom and eutrophication, which can be a huge problem especially at lake Balaton year by year in the era of global warming. Honestly, lots of people can be so thankful to these people, who make all of efforts, to solve this common problem.
Your kind comment is deeply appreciated, especially coming from somebody with a relevant background. We should indeed be thankful for all the support these scientists get, and all the work they do. Cheers.
Very much needed Video for Aquarium, Science of Algae the topic is very much fitting with the video, No one in the world except Green Aqua can go this much deep into this topic for Aquarium Thank You So Much Green Aqua
Many thanks to sharing this documentary and was really helpful and informative. Apart from that what a beautiful sightseeing this place has. Would be interested in living there 😊
The question arises: Is the video quality or the aquascape quality the biggest strength of greenaqua. I mean these the tanks always look great but this is just better than tv.
It is quite interesting to delve into the scientific research on algae and it is quite relevant for our environment! Btw, been to Lake Balaton a number of times and loved it!
Great contribution to enhance our knowledge. Balaczs, your past as a TV producer clearly shows as well - very professional! Could you - in addition for us other scientists post a few publication references on those general topics? Or was it - “the substance that must not be named”?
Amazing video guys. You guys re challenging the viewer which is awesome and the production is fantastic. Hats off to the guys from editing and grading. great pasting and very very informative. I love it
Kudos for all future videos supported with scientific discussions. I would even encourage you to go deeper. :) Our hobby contains both beauty and science. We pay too much attention to beauty, but not that much in science. It would be good to fix that inequality :)
Super interesante video. Algún día tengo que visitar Hungría. Por algún motivo siempre me ha llamado la atención y muy especialmente Budapest. Ahora tengo un motivo más, visitaros y conoceros. Saludos amigos, nos encontramos en el camino.
You are welcome, glad you found this useful. I liked that part the best, when they told me that certain stem plants emit substances that are bad for algae. Wow.
@@GreenAquaShopOh yeah, that's been known for a while now. Plants of the Rotala genus for example are known to do that, which can also reduce the amount of other organisms like bacteria.
@@GreenAquaShop Oh no worries, this was not meant to downplay your knowledge/interest in the topic, and obviously nobody can know everything. I'm quite young myself (23). I just wanted to say that it's not super new and wanted to add cool new info. And more and more gets discovered everyday, no wonder there's specialties like toxicology of cyanobacteria. There's just so much to learn everyday
Thanks much for this great informative video, and yet after this scientific data, some hobbiests will deny the importance of nitrogen and phosphorus as a cause for algae bloom.
Thanks, Balázs cause we also need to know all about nature and where it comes from how to get rid of it what is the cause and if it is harmful or healthy etc. I love these educational videos too. After all, you guys follow Amano's footsteps and that is where he discovered how to use the compressed CO2 in our aquariums that is healthy to our plants (like a drug overdose) and what keeps the Algae at bay. Again thanks. 👍
We all like to drive personal cars, use aquarium equipment (chemical, metallurgical industry), which are manufactured primarily in China. And what is the environmental situation there? We all love to live in beautiful houses, with beautiful design (metallurgical, chemical industry, deforestation on an industrial scale). And such a " touching " concern for nature . How sweet.
I think that especially because we live under those circumstances that's why we need to pay more attention, not to get distanced from Nature. You are on point.
@@GreenAquaShop Thanks . If humanity had come up with the idea of making some kind of product (commodity) from the air we breathe. We would have been dead already)))
@@GreenAquaShop Yes , not really stupid . I watched an interview with Elon Musk . He proposed the idea of releasing carbon dioxide from the air , on an industrial scale . You can try asking him a question about it .
Your discussion with the masters of algae don't mention the different forms of algae. Black beard and Elkhorn to name a few - makes me wonder if these two sp. Of algae only exist within the parameters of the four glass walls of the aquarium itself?
LOL, did I squint too much? Truth be told, I am 100% wearing sunglasses when I'm outside, even in grey weather, and I had to take them off for the shoot. Well spotted.
Will help a little, but will not completely eliminate the BGA. For that, antibiotics are probably needed as it is not an algae but a bacterium. Ultralife BGA is also useful.
It is much-much better than featuring unpaid actors. Imagine the quality of that play. LOL. Hopefully, we're all gonna get paid for our efforts, including you.
I wish. LOL. This was mostly science and a huge shoutout to Oase as they sponsored this research, without them these scientists would starve to death, with a little exaggeration. I know, we had a few scientists in the family. ;P

whats special about 23°c in aquascaping?
It is the sweet spot between too cold for fish and too warm for algae...

There is no way of preventing algae in "high tech" tanks. If you feed "man made" chemicals into tank you increase the chance of feeding these.
I agree, you will inevitably see some algae. The key is to prevent the algae bloom though, not the algae. That, you can do.
