Anyone that can put their hand up and say they are finding life a bit hard and might possibly need a chop out has my utmost respect. Unfortunately a relative of mine was unable to put his hand up and I miss him dearly. Mental health is just as important as physical health .

Glenn your words of acknowledgment to deal with your demons are inspiring. I myself deal with demons and this time of year is the trigger. I have learnt to know this trigger and prepare but it’s not easy and definitely has to do with what occurred to me when I was a child. I have learnt my trigger and it is the buildup coming out of winter, knowing spring everything starts to look amazing and then it’s AFL finals and grand final day, then the horse racing spring carnival and most important we seem to get out more with our family and friends and then Xmas and new years celebration and then I come of this high. To all out there as Glenn said, ‘we can run on empty’. Please acknowledge the signs and if you can know the time so you can prepare and also talk about it. I hope this helps Cheers, Yodel.

Getting in to it out in the bush turns a frown upside down. Keep on keeping on. Nice finds. Those buttons with the loop to attach to a garment are shank buttons. Came across a snake whilst out walking yesterday. A big quick step backwards and it scuttled off. Always like the history of the sites from Glenn. Cheers

Looks like the student is learning well from the master on finding the gold 😊. At least Glenn got to "punch the bag" before he went prospecting, so not a bad day for him overall 😂😂😂😂. Keep the laughs, relics and most importantly the gold coming fellas! Really appreciate Glenn's insights into the terrain you're prospecting on where the huts & relics can be indicators that the old timers were on the gold. Over here in WA you can come across old shafts with heaps of rusty old tin cans and beer bottles, which is annoying because of the non stop ferrous signals, but probably worth persevering through to find small nuggets they missed back in thd day. Might have to test that theory when it cools down a bit here 😊.

Hey Guys thanks for a top vid, Glenn as a fellow sufferer after a breakdown I can fully understand the need for a sleep in. For me talking it out has worked wonders and the support of family also goes unsaid sometimes, so maybe a lean on Ants shoulder wouldn't go astray. Ant I sincerely hope your cousin comes througth unscathed the trouble in the world these days is F$$%ing unbelievable. Keep it up guys the humour in the videos not to mention the gold helps us all.

It’s a pandemic with the mental health situation Glenn, it happens to all of us, we all just learn to cope with it, unfortunately most people just bottle it up and don’t say anything, I’m one of those,
I’ve learned to talk to certain people in my circle that understand,
If anyone else feels like nobody cares about how your feeling just open up to the people that are your closest friends, good friends help each other, if you don’t have anyone there’s places you can call 24/7 Like life line, that’s just one I can think of off the top of my head. You don’t have to suffer in silence.
I agree Jim and i've tried to talk to Glenn about it as well. He's a bit of a closed box though and has his own way of dealing with it. As long as he comes out the other side his jolly self, its all good!! I'll keep an eye on him. Cheers 👍

Glenn … been where you’ve been on and off most of my life and it’s one of the reasons why I took up enamelling, it helps me focus things elsewhere. Yes it’s hard to get motivated but spending time out in the bush with a mate can be the best remedy of them all. Congratulations on your piece Ant. Hey Ant and Glenn , thank you so much for the shout out to Fletch he will be wrapped. But he will have to wait until I get back home from the gold fields to watch this one, can’t wait to see his face. I have been here for a week now, but I made the mistake of thinking January summer when I packed for camping so the last couple of nights I’ve frozen my ass off. I had a good day yesterday not unlike yours found a nice little nugget and a brass sluice box nail but no buttons. Cheers Glenn thanks again for the shout out for Fletch. Believe me I do understand what you’re going through so sometimes you need to be your number one priority, stay safe and see if AGM has a long range lens for the phone so you can stay well back when Ant is digging. I hope you are feeling yourself again soon mate not literally though 👍. Ant stop picking on your self, my thoughts are with your cousin for his safe return.

Thanks for another great and appropriate gold hunter video, from savvy old tom, [my other online handle]. First thing Glenn, I reluctantly went detecting and panning yesterday, in the scrub with many very hungry leaches hell bent on being fed. Got a few colours, lost some blood and killed a few leaches and came home out right stuffed. Today I felt good and woke up to the fact that I need to regularly get into places that are hard going, because this forces my body/mind to get real about living the high life. Like you, living the high life is staying healthy in old age and doing things that you love. Keep making videos boys, you inspire me. Warm regards, Tom

Wise words Glenn. Your insights into mental health are really good to hear. Amazingly insightful and heartfelt. I find detecting therapeutic, concentrating on something of interest like Metal Detecting is the way to go.
