I am always amazed how calm Perez is on the radio. Like, Leclerc crashed into him and he was not swearing or anything, he was pretty calm. In general, whenever he is on a team radio, he rarely (if it happens at any time) sounds stressed.
Experience, ok we just crashed, check if the car ok while i recover ASAP. There is no need to waste time swearing and elevating your hearth rate, better be calm because you drive better and think way better when you are calm. Another way of getting anger out of you is driving to the max instead of swearing. But still calm...

George proved all that he needed to this weekend. He will have many other opportunities to get a win. Perez might be making his last F1 start in less than a week. He probably won’t get another opportunity to win a race. That makes his win all the more important and special.

Man, you bet it was awesome. I unfortunately missed the race live, but decided to check up on it in the last few minutes of the broadcast. I thought I was gonna see George leading the race, but instead the first thing that came up was Checo holding back tears and the Mexican national anthem playing, I was really confused at first and then it hit me! It was the best feeling ever.
he was not in the position that he is eligible to complain or criticize the Team. he was given a huge chance many can only dream to get and he did achieve what he had not previously done before last race which was scoring points in F1. I'm pretty sure as a normal person, he's wholeheartedly blaming the team for the screwup, maybe even swearing at them in silence but he's a pro and he is wise for not burning any bridges
Gasly and Pérez are the reasons we watch F1. Endless respect to Lewis and the Mercedes team supporting him, who show up and perform at their absolute best, week after week after week. But the overwhelming emotion of listening to a driver win their first race against all odds, or even their first podium (Checo wasn't the only teary one on that radio)...those are the moments that you really watch for. That's what makes it all worth it. If he can't get a seat next year, then I absolutely hope he's got something lined up for '22. I say this not just as someone who declared Pérez to be his favorite driver in 2011, but I think F1 right now is going to be strictly worse if he isn't there. I've always rated him as one of the top talents in the field, as fast and reliable as even Daniel Ricciardo and able to show it at the front if only he hadn't thrown in with Mclaren that fateful year. Another YT channel on team radio for Sakhir had a Mercedes engineer criticizing Bottas very openly with a phrase like "even despite the problems we should do better than this, we should do better than this". He seems to forget the team cost Bottas more than 30 seconds. First, it took them forever to call him to box after they replaced Russell's tires. Russell was about 3 secs in front before the stops. The gap grew to 9 secs when Bottas returned to race. Then the double stack. Bottas has to wait his turn, then the team fumbles for 28 seconds to remove and put back the same tires he came in with. He was the senior driver in the team this weekend and should have gotten more respect IMO.

I honestly find it such a shame that in an event when Perez gets his maiden win, and an absolutely ferociously-fought one at that, the only thing people are talking about is George. Like, Russel is a great driver for sure, but come on the obsession over him gets pretty tiring.
Was properly gutted for RUS and a _redemptive_ PER win proved to be the only thing that could soothe my pain. *Redemption in the context of this race, this season and his racing career to date.* So much happened in that 87-lap thriller that it's easy to forget that PER recovered to *P3* before the final drama! That in itself was already _win-like_ and speaks to the brilliant determination of the driver perhaps most deserving of a 2021 race seat! Such a _roller coaster_ of emotions and I distinctly recall these two thoughts playing in my head: *1.* That it was poetic that a shunt of his _FW43,_ with AIT at the wheel, was instrumental in denying RUS a win in HAM's _W11_ *2.* That the *top brass at Racing Point* do not deserve to celebrate or take any measure of credit for PER's win Such a shame PER will likely be without a race seat in 2021! I mean, the man is in his racing prime and poised to finish the _WDC_ best-of-the-rest battle in *P3,* despite numerous instances of points-robbing _bad luck...._

The gap grew to 9 secs when Bottas returned to race. Then the double stack. Bottas has to wait his turn, then the team fumbles for 28 seconds to remove and put back the same tires he came in with. He was the senior driver in the team this weekend and should have gotten more respect IMO.

I honestly find it such a shame that in an event when Perez gets his maiden win, and an absolutely ferociously-fought one at that, the only thing people are talking about is George. Like, Russel is a great driver for sure, but come on the obsession over him gets pretty tiring.
I'm definitely taking that "George, it's James" sound clip.
Was properly gutted for RUS and a _redemptive_ PER win proved to be the only thing that could soothe my pain. *Redemption in the context of this race, this season and his racing career to date.* So much happened in that 87-lap thriller that it's easy to forget that PER recovered to *P3* before the final drama! That in itself was already _win-like_ and speaks to the brilliant determination of the driver perhaps most deserving of a 2021 race seat! Such a _roller coaster_ of emotions and I distinctly recall these two thoughts playing in my head:
*1.* That it was poetic that a shunt of his _FW43,_ with AIT at the wheel, was instrumental in denying RUS a win in HAM's _W11_
*2.* That the *top brass at Racing Point* do not deserve to celebrate or take any measure of credit for PER's win
Such a shame PER will likely be without a race seat in 2021! I mean, the man is in his racing prime and poised to finish the _WDC_ best-of-the-rest battle in *P3,* despite numerous instances of points-robbing _bad luck...._
