Gen Malik describes the psyche of Gen Pervez Musharraf who wanted to wrest Kargil not only as a bargaining chip, but also as retribution of his personal failure to take Siachen. The reason behind the decision not to cross LoC is described by Gen Malik as well as his personal dilemmas and the stress arising out of it as the Chief of the Indian army.
