I'm still working on believing that we got Jameson, dude's a baller and Bama receivers have a track record of being really good in the NFL. I got a feeling Jamo's just the next in line on that list.
Hutch, Jamo, Kerby, Rodrigo, and The Problem James Houston have become an absolute masterclass of a draft by Brad Holmes. Thank you to everyone at Ford field and Detroit Lions, us fans have waited so long!!!!
Paschal had a hernia (totally not an injury prone type thing) but he showed some SERIOUS stuff when he was in the game. Look for Paschal to be one of the highlights of the 2022 draft folks ;)
The fact they drafted Rodrigo mainly for special teams and he ends up maybe our best LB is incredible. 2 drafts in a row where not only did the lions hit on their 1st round prospects but also hit on mid to late round picks is incredible. Brad Holmes and Dan campbell will be detroit legends. I wanted Salah until I heard Dan's into speech. I'm so happy we FINALLY got it right.

Drafted 2 all team rookies, drafted top 2 rookie sack leaders, drafted the safety that ended Aaron Rodgers' packers career, drafted the second finalist on voting for defensive rookie of the year, and Jameson Williams has yet to be fully unleashed
All of this was possible because of the Queen of Detroit. I’d go to war for Shiela, too many decades where ownership was THE BIGGEST problem, and in just only 2 years….decades of wrong decisions were made right. She’s my Queen 👸
Been a loyal fan since forever! Best draft I've ever seen!! Great transparency from the Lions organization. This is a whole different era of Detroit Lions Football. My friends think im crazy for having so much Lions stuff but like I tell em every time they ask... "ONE PRIDE BABY"
Lifelong fan, I started in 99, and thought Joey was the savior. Matt Millen cooked us. Mayhew tried and Bob fried us to hell. This is the most I’ve ever been excited about our team since 2014. Love the transparency.
Same here, man. We just missed out on seeing Barry and then got years of watching one of the worst teams in history in the Millen era Lions. Things really feel right right now, for the first time ever. It feels like we have an absolutely incredible staff from top to bottom. We just need the time and the luck and hopefully everything will click together and we'll start really seeing that on the football field. Hard Knocks is going to be an incredible watch too.
Same, Joey teams tricked me so hard, I told myself I would never drink the koolaid again until they won a playoff game but damn its getting harder to do with this regime. Im sippin a little, lots of ice though.
He signed an injury prone wr coming off a season ending injury. He traded up for a guy coming off acl surgery that may not play half the season. He is putting all his eggs into the Jared Goff basket. He hired a HC who was never even a coordinator before and failed miserably in his one opportunity to be an interim HC... Put that resume on the Packers gm and you'd be saying he is a terrible gm and laughing at all his desperate moves 🤣 😂
@@AdamB34 I’d take Holmes over Gutekunst all day every day. He’s been living off the prior regimes success all while drafting Jordan Love, Eric Stokes, Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt in the first round. Packers were handed years of quality drafts, Holmes was handed a Mismanaged Cap and a historically slow defense.
@@kadol1zr wow! At first I thought you were the typical overzealous Lions fan, now I see you're a complete moron. Try to follow along big guy. Here's what Gutekunst has done since becoming gm in 2018... ● Fired Mike McCarthy and Hired Matt LaFleur as HC. LaFleur has gone 39-10 with 2 nfc championship appearances in 3 years since being hired. ● Fired Mike Pettine and Hired Joe Barry as the DC. Defense has improved immensely. It is now a legitimately good defense with numerous all-pro/pro-bowl players. ● Hired Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator. The offense was top 10 twice in 3 years including being #1 in 2020. He is now the head coach of the Broncos. ● Drafted: Jaire Alexander- All-Pro Elgton Jenkins- Pro-Bowl Rashan Gary- PFF #9 ranked EDGE Darnell Savage- PFF top 15 safety Aj Dillon- 90.7 PFF grade, 4th best the last 2 yrs Eric Stokes- "Stokes took over a starting job in Week 3 and showed immense growth as the season progressed. He comes into the playoffs on his hottest stretch of play. Since Week 12, he has been one of the 10 highest-graded cornerbacks in the NFL. He has allowed a mere 0.46 yards per coverage snap and 3.1 yards per target in that span, both of which are second among cornerbacks." Josh Myers- 2nd highest rated rookie center in 2021 Royce Newman- starting oline ● Free Agent/Trades: Zadarius Smith- All-Pro Devondre Campbell- All-Pro Adrian Amos- PFF #1 Safety Preston Smith- 25 sacks in 3 seasons Billy Turner- 3 yr o-line starter ● Extensions: Aaron Rodgers- mvp David Bakhtiari- All-Pro Aaron Jones- pro bowl Devondre Campbell- All-Pro Kenny Clark- pro-bowl Jaire Alexander- All-Pro Preston Smith ● Gm Rankings: NFL com- Gutekunst, 4th NBC Sports- Gutekunst, 10th Fansided- Gutekunst, 3rd Gutekunst has kept almost nothing from the previous regime. He hired a new Head Coach, new Offensive Coordinator (twice, first one became a head coach) and new Defensive Coordinator. He pretty much remade the entire roster via the draft and free agency and re-signed players like Rodgers, Bakhtiari and Clark who were from the old regime but also elite players he was smart to re-sign. So there you have it. Gutekunst is universally viewed as a top 5-10 gm and he's completely overhauled the team since he took over. It's nothing at all like the team he took over in 2018. Literally nothing you said about him was true. It's actually pretty embarrassing on your part that you posted that comment with such confidence 😅😂🤣.
I love these Inside the Den videos, but most of all I think this organization is finally headed in the right direction. Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell are doing it right!
Hutch and Kirby are both studs. Pascal and Jameson are just coming back to be studs. Edit - Rodriguez is a stud too Edit #2 - and Houston!?!? Is Brad from the future??
Watching this now and having to understand that every rookie on here has played on the field and 3 of them are looking Dominant and one on his way. Hutch, Kj and Rodrigo are beasts. Houston is going to be a beast and the rest look stunning on tape
Seemed like they were good with staying pat. Maybe even taking Paschal at 32 or 34. So it's almost like we got Jameson Williams and the 66th pick for just the 32th overall. What an amazing trade.
It seems like the lions got every player they were after. I don't know if the media department just did a great job creating this video making us believe that each player was their target or what. But man oh man it looks to me they got very lucky that their players kept falling to them. I cannot imagine if this is true...this is lions making these moves
@@mikebradt8080 No at 31:05 you can hear Dan say to Brad, "You were 100% dead on with these picks" Meaning Brad was 100% correct and the 3 players in the draft that they picked at that time were exactly the picks they wanted before the draft started. Maybe for the picks in the later rounds they added a little suspense. But for the 1st 3 picks I wholeheartedly believe they got the guys they were looking for before the draft started
As a WNY native and Bills fan, I chose the Lions as my 2nd team. What a fun draft to start my fandom with! Reminds me of the Bills 4 years ago. Lets get it!!!! (After the Bills win this superbowl of course)
The energy when trading up with Minnesota and picking Jameson Williams, as well as the reaction to getting him when the Saints take Olave, gives me goosebumps every time. For the first time in my life, I genuinely believe in and trust this front office to do what's best for the organization to get the team moving forward in the right direction. Brad Holmes is the best GM the Lions have had in franchise history without a doubt in my mind, so a major shoutout to him, Sheila Ford Hamp, Chris Spielman, and the rest of that front office. Can't wait to see this franchise turn into a monster! Go Lions!!
Having John Dorsey is a class move family..it is paying dividends as we speak, his knowledge of drafting and player scheme fit is really a sounding board for Holmes
@@olddirtyrob Exactly my point fam! He isn't getting enough credit...Maybe once they start winning 🤔 ..He has already built 2 different teams with success for the next decade or so..
I can't wait to see the behind he scenes from this years draft (2023) and how the production team shows the initial criticism by "the experts" and then how they all came around after looking back on the overall draft. Not to mention the behind the scenes around Picks 12 and 68!!
Seriously, everyone Holmes picked has delivered this year except Chase Lucas and even he would’ve gotten run if he hadn’t had gotten hurt. How often can any teams say that? Houston and Rodrigo in the 6th? Are you kidding?
There was not one miss in this draft class. What's even better is that we haven't seen the full potential of Jamo and Paschal yet. Very excited to see what they become after a full healthy offseason and camp

Exciting to see how all the staff were stoked about landing Jameson! Can’t wait to see this new team
Randle-El looked like a little kid on Christmas morning.
coming back after the season to see how well we actually drafted makes me so incredibly happy
@@Funktaro5 ya this time drafting a reciever isn't a punch line
And Joey Harrington I'm still shocked didn't work out they did everything to surround him with everything except offensive line
Same, Joey teams tricked me so hard, I told myself I would never drink the koolaid again until they won a playoff game but damn its getting harder to do with this regime. Im sippin a little, lots of ice though.
Everyone of these picks, seem like some Good young men. I'm proud to have them represent my team!
I was waiting for this one, man I get goosebumps from this stuff. Go Lions. Good job to our entire organization. Lol I never thought I'd say that!
Lol Brad Holmes the chosen one man
Can’t wait to watch Brad COOK again in one week!
How'd we do?
@@DukeofGames50historic. Maybe best draft ever
@@growmiegreenthumb8025 hehehehe full stop no cap dead ass and 30 other zoomer phrases, you are correct
Man I’m already so emotionally invested in this team. I love Brad and coach Dan so Much
YES THEY DID ONE FOR THIS YEAR
Absolutely loved watching this. So refreshing seeing a competent regime at work.
● Drafted:
Jaire Alexander- All-Pro
Elgton Jenkins- Pro-Bowl
Rashan Gary- PFF #9 ranked EDGE
Darnell Savage- PFF top 15 safety
Aj Dillon- 90.7 PFF grade, 4th best the last 2 yrs
Eric Stokes- "Stokes took over a starting job in Week 3 and showed immense growth as the season progressed. He comes into the playoffs on his hottest stretch of play. Since Week 12, he has been one of the 10 highest-graded cornerbacks in the NFL. He has allowed a mere 0.46 yards per coverage snap and 3.1 yards per target in that span, both of which are second among cornerbacks."
Josh Myers- 2nd highest rated rookie center in 2021
Royce Newman- starting oline
● Free Agent/Trades:
Zadarius Smith- All-Pro
Devondre Campbell- All-Pro
Adrian Amos- PFF #1 Safety
Preston Smith- 25 sacks in 3 seasons
Billy Turner- 3 yr o-line starter
● Extensions:
Aaron Rodgers- mvp
David Bakhtiari- All-Pro
Aaron Jones- pro bowl
Devondre Campbell- All-Pro
Kenny Clark- pro-bowl
Jaire Alexander- All-Pro
Preston Smith
● Gm Rankings:
NFL com- Gutekunst, 4th
NBC Sports- Gutekunst, 10th
Fansided- Gutekunst, 3rd
Gutekunst has kept almost nothing from the previous regime.
Didn’t want this to end! Go Lions!!
Ready to run thru a wall! Awesome draft. Incredibly well done episode! My heart was happy watching this. One Pride!
Salute to the editors thank you guys for listening to the fan base we just love these videos and the insight into our favorite team.
Really makes you love the staff even more
January 20, 2023
Watching this for the first time, and holy **** did we get some great rookies!! Can't wait to see what next season brings us 🔥🦁🔥🦁
I love these Inside the Den videos, but most of all I think this organization is finally headed in the right direction. Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell are doing it right!
Infinitely grateful for the people we have in our organization, we’ve waiting so long, finally
52 minutes long!!! IM SO HAPPY IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT
Man the Lions really just pulled two straight A+ drafts. For the first time in a long time, I feel like this franchise has a direction.
🔥 That's how you lay the foundation of a dynasty. LFG Brad & MCDC.🥳
Aaron Rodgers really liked the Kirby Joseph pick too. Kirby liked all three of Aaron’s 😉
Hutch and Kirby are both studs. Pascal and Jameson are just coming back to be studs.
Edit - Rodriguez is a stud too
Edit #2 - and Houston!?!? Is Brad from the future??
PRE W INSIDE THE DEN
Best regime OUR LIONS ever had, glad to still be on this long ride. I see the tide turning really soon.
One Pride
Watching this now and having to understand that every rookie on here has played on the field and 3 of them are looking Dominant and one on his way. Hutch, Kj and Rodrigo are beasts. Houston is going to be a beast and the rest look stunning on tape
This was an awesome draft, but 2023 definitely put it all together
"Is this something you're gonna do in the NFL?"
"Is this...? I play football."
Jamo gonna be a superstar
James Houston been goated through it all bro he been the problem and the answer
looking back at this with how this draft class is breaking out is incredible
Yes! I have never believed in a team like this before, I can't wait to see where these guys go!
Bears fan here. This series is awesome. Something special going on with this GM & HC & Owner in Detroit. Beautiful to watch.
This is the best video I've seen on this channel in the last 3 years. Well done 👏
Absolutely phenomenal production value. Lifetime Lions really looking forward to this rendition of the team.
Love how Jameson Williams was always the target for the trade up to 12. Wonder what the Lions would have done if Williams was picked by N.O.
(After the Bills win this superbowl of course)
we welcome you
This series has set the bar pretty high for the folks at HBO. Really great work.
Watching this after the season makes you appreciate what these "rookies" did for this team and organization !! 🦁🦁🦁
Dorsey built Cleveland and KC
@@olddirtyrob Exactly my point fam! He isn't getting enough credit...Maybe once they start winning 🤔 ..He has already built 2 different teams with success for the next decade or so..
Panthers fan here. I want to see Detroit win man. They deserve it the fans deserve it
I can't wait to see the behind he scenes from this years draft (2023) and how the production team shows the initial criticism by "the experts" and then how they all came around after looking back on the overall draft. Not to mention the behind the scenes around Picks 12 and 68!!
Same
Been waiting for this since the first week of May.
Loving this GM and coach chemistry
Seriously, everyone Holmes picked has delivered this year except Chase Lucas and even he would’ve gotten run if he hadn’t had gotten hurt. How often can any teams say that? Houston and Rodrigo in the 6th? Are you kidding?
Who’s here AGAIN after Jamo scored his first TD on his first catch!!!! #Holmes4President
There was not one miss in this draft class. What's even better is that we haven't seen the full potential of Jamo and Paschal yet. Very excited to see what they become after a full healthy offseason and camp
It’s now a tradition to comeback to this video every month
watching this again because getting antsy for the 2023 draft
I love the focus on the elite intangibles and character in the organization. The Lions have it 🔥🔥🔥
Its been a year, where's our new Inside the Den for this year?!
Man these episodes are amazing 👏
Anyone else watching these on the eve of the 2023 draft getting pumped 😂
Meeee
Man… I’ve been waiting for this so hard and then better yet, it’s almost an hour! I love my Detroit Lions!
52 MINUTES! WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED
I could watch this all day. Great stuff
Man this was so good! 🔥!!! Thank you Lions’ production team.
As a jets fan I’m super happy to see things turning around for the lions, I love these series! Good luck this season 👍🏾
