dr i need ask for questions please. after surgery for remove sinus blocked nose breathing about years today but we still not able smell what was it taste how could we do know in our future restore our lost of smell
Both are done with a single aim of giving a better breathing for the patient. Method used is the choice of surgeon,to decide based on points which i described in this
The technique of septoplasty is well demonstrated in this video. To prevent tear of flaps do this- 1. Adequate infiltration of local anaesthetic/saline adrenaline to subperichondrial and subperiosteal planes 2. elevation of flaps adequatly before removing parts of septum. 3.correct visualisation of entire area in a bloodless field. 4. Preoperative evaluation of deviated site is critical to achieve optimum outcome. Septoplasty is a reconstructive procedure tailor-made for individual cases.
Thank you very much mam. I am not a student ,Doctor. I already took septoplasty surgery, but still facing that scalp pain pressure on the back of my head , even if I straight my septum with my fingers means I feel the relief should I go with second surgery? SMR or septoplasty?
hello mam i understood all , i have one question i.e after septoplasy why are septum bone still deviated in some cases i have seen this why dont the doctor completey straifht the septum ?
@@DrSujathasENTClasses Thanks you mam in septoplasy before closing perichondrial flaps can surgeons close directly following suture ? Without making wedges on the removed deviated side? What is the impact of directly suturing?
Hello madam, i used to had facial pain and in ct scan it came out to be septal spur and i was advised for septoplasty, on 4 july 2022 i underwent for septoplasty after that though that pain was gone but now my major concern is i can't sense my breathing, during breathing in and out through nose, i don't feel the air anymore, firstly i thought the surgeon may have done turbinates reduction from that it was happening, but i visited to 3-4 different ENTs and all of them told nasal trubinates are not reduced/resected and every thing looks fine and nasopharynx is clear , also the surgeon told me he haven't touched my nasal turbinates and told me you are having some mental problem, but i know its not mental issue as before the surgery everything was fine i was only having some pain in nose, but after the surgery now my sense of breathing is gone and due to this i am having suffocation feeling sometimes too, and i can't focus on my studies or even can't focus on anything, my nose now remain mostly dry and no sense of air, how to fix this maam, and what is the issue i visited to different ENT doctors and all are saying no issue is there, i am getting totally depressed due to this, i also have recording of my nasal endoscopy and can share it with you for evaluation, please guide me what should I do now
@@DrSujathasENTClasses i asked that about my surgeon, he told me in empty nose syndrome lot of crusting happen in nose and cause bad smell, but in my nose there is no crust, my primary concern is dry nose and no air sensation during breathing, if it is a part of empty nose syndrome, then what are possible solution and medicine for it, currently i am using humidifier, and my surgeon prescribed neosprin antibiotics ointment , but it is not working for my case, or if you can refer me any empty nose syndrome expert doctor in india, it would be great help to me

May be you are having Empty Nose Syndrome. If so it is difficult to diagnose and treat.and the outlook varies from person to person. Regular checkups at ent surgeon is needed and reduce mental stress and anxiety. Implants are good but results varies a lot
as he is 13 with recurrent respiratory infection, there is high chance of adenoid hypertrophy. So better do adenoidectomy along with limited septoplasty
Mam ma ny smr surgery karwai h for Gross nasal deviation but maray septum may abi bi deviation h kia ap reason bta skti h because ap ny lecture buhat acha explains kia h but mujhe apny question ka answer is may nii mila please its a request 🙏
There is chance of cartilage growing back to deviated shape ,even after septal correction,(as cartilage shows memory while regrowing). But usually there wont be much symptoms as it was before your surgery. If it is creating problems, you may need a visit to your ENT surgeon. No need to worry. Almost all nasal problems are correctable.

It should be answered only after clinical evaluation of your son👍

Ma'am it will be good if u provide us with notes too as the textbook doesn't cover everything
My lectures are my notes. Listen repeatedly and study. If possible make your own notes. I am preparing after going through all standard text books
Thank you maam.
Hi madam ..what books you recommend for undergraduate..both theory and practiclas
Theory - Mohan Bansal/ Dhingra. Practicals - ENT practicals made easy ( Jaypee Brothers)
Hello ma'am..understood this topic well..thank you !
Which books has to be followed by pgs for both theory and practicals?
any standard text book can be followed
Very useful
hello mam i understood all , i have one question i.e after septoplasy why are septum bone still deviated in some cases i have seen this why dont the doctor completey straifht the septum ?
Bone will not grow back but cartilage have a tendency to grow back into deviated postion due to high level of inherent memory.

is a rare complication of SMR and unlikely to happen after Septoplaty
