In the title *the* the *t* is small... And it's very important to notice that because *the* is definite article but here Hanif uses small *t* which asks the reader to interpret who really is the definite fanatic.

No doubt both are fanatic, but father is more fanatic because it was father's responsibility to lead his son according to religion but he was gone astray with the colors of society. Father was mature and much experienced about life, but Ali proved, his father could not overcome the society's culture. Now, Ali is fanatic because he was very bitter in his words against his father. But father is more fanatic.
