I do that too! I’ve got christmas ornaments (or keychains) from US state trips, Germany, Egypt, Oman, Ireland, Kuwait and Dubai !!! ❤❤❤ I love showing them to my family and friends when I get home.

New Orleans is one of my most favorite trips I've ever taken!!!
Yes, Royal is a fav of mine due to all the antique and vintage shops.
Loved this from the packing with cat(could watch her + packing a few times, adorable) to hubs Nii and you enjoying all the food, to sightseeing( lol gator kisses). The stationery haul is always a good idea, love wax stamps feels very retro! Adore Banana Republic, they have great sales + some US grocery stores periodically offer their gift cards + free shopping(20% usually, check ads).

New Orleans is a fabulous place. I'm so glad you want to return. Please put out feeler posts the next time you are making plans. Those of us in the south that go there often have seasoned recommendations. For instance I would have steered you away from Dragos with a hand grenade! It's terrible! Mother's truly is a better option for breakfast and not lunch or dinner. Our hotel of choice "Windsor Court" is just up the street. We preorder take out and eat in our room. The lines are crazy! My absolute favorite is the Shrimp Creole a top cheese grits. (Delicious!) The Étouffée is equally great served this way. They have great potato salad and a a namesake raspberry jelly that's a very worthy souvenir.
There are great places to eat. I've mentioned this before, GW Finns in the Qtr is the best elevated seafood restaurant in my opinion. It's a lovely place with excellent wait staff at tavle. They serve these hot out of the oven, smooth and light as a feather buttermilk biscuits when you are served. Unbelievable!
You didnt really miss anything by skipping the Riverwalk Outlet Mall which is right beside the Hilton/Dragos. Saks Off Fifth is in there which we will go to along with Tommy Bahama and Coach for a look around. Walking around Royal Street is my favorite. It's known for the antique stores and art galleries.
I can also suggest Italian Barrel, Pelican Club and Ruth Chris for dinner. Atchafalaya in the Garden District off Magazine is a great option as well. The Shrimp and Grits are my favorite along with the fried green tomatoes! If you ever see Eggplant Napolean on a menu you must try it!
I wonder if your tour guide took you by the Lalaurie Mansion off Royal Street? This was house featured on Coven, American Horror Story "Kathy Bates" played the insane lady. Loved the 2 Haunted History tours we took. So entertaining and interesting!
I hope you'll venture out of the city to tour a historical Plantation home with gardens. Houma House is one of my favorites. They have a delicious restaurant on site. It's been in several movies. Green Book was the latest. The owner lives there full time though you won't see him during tours.
There's an evening dinner on a big paddle boat that cruises the Mississippi where you load up at the River Walk off Canal Str. They have a band playing while you cruise.

NOLA is one of my favorite places on earth. I go back as often as i can. I could never live there though, i dont think my cholesterol would allow me many years left with the constant eating.
If you go back and want to do fried chicken, then Willie Mae's Scotch House is worth braving the queue. Be sure to get the butter beans.

Great that you got down to NoLa. I used to fly down there annually for the French Quarter Festival, usually in April. You should try it out one year and actually stay in the French Quarter as most of the concerts, which are free, are held there for the festival. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the 2020 one and get a refund. But, hopefully I'll get back to my NoLa-in-April-routine and back to dancing in the streets, twirling my parasol, and joining Second Lines. LOL!

The bike part was too funny and Nii saying I’ve never met somebody who can never relax. My anxiety self thought that would be me. My cat loves to play and chew on the strings of my purse dust bags. I am obsessed with beignets. Sooo good. Personally I think cafe beignet is better than cafe du monde’s beignets. Cafe beignets are bigger and softer

Oh, this was so wonderful to watch!! I love NOLA! I'm interested in what wasn't good at Mother's; I always get a shrimp poboy there. Another great street is Magazine! Loads of bookstores and some antiques places and antique jewelry places. Dang. I love New Orleans.
