Those running costs are mental? Must be mainly finance payments? If you buy outright once depreciation has mainly been taken care of you are left with servicing, MOT, warranty and insurance. Servicing is roughly 1-1.5k per year, warranty through McLaren is 3300 ish, MOT is peanuts 50 ish, insurance is clearly a bit difference on many factors. For me annual cost for one of these if bought out right would be around 6k.
He pointed out exactly what the costs were for. £20k or so for deposit, £20k or so for finance payments. This comment just feels like a weird attempt to flex to everyone that you'd "but it outright"... Which is a stupid idea, by the way. Why would you buy something that's depreciating?
@@Kempy89 not a flex at all. I don’t even own one yet. I was just wanting to show that it doesn’t have to cost anything like that to run if bought out right. As to why I would buy out right it is because I don’t want to pay interest on a depreciating asset. If bought at the right age and maintained well potential losses are limited so less risk than buying new or new ish.
Here's the thing...I don't mind the cost of a supercar, I just expect that the craftsmanship is such that I don't have to deal with the hassle of unreliability, let alone the expense.
You’re 1000% correct man. I think the angle I look at it is that with such precise engineering, small faults will cause the system to shut down. For example, I had a Rolls Royce for a short while. All I ever had to do was swap a water pump, it never had any fine engineering issues even with a BIG V12. Supercars you MUST expect them to break and do it semi often. That’s not just McLaren either!
Lol dang how do you guys afford these kinda of cars 😅 that’s crazy. It’s a beautiful car 😊 Dream car ❤ Thank you for this video, it’s really good to know the good, the bad and ugly.
Love the video and transparency

What model is yours?
@@RichardGreigDickson hi, that’s the costs for a 570s. I don’t own one yet but looking to buy.

@@RichardGreigDickson I am looking at a 570s or 570gt and my costs are based on running costs for them.
The finance option depends how much your going to spend. If I had £90k for a secondhand one why finance it and pay the interest?

I don't know if you consider the AMG GTR a super car but those are extremely reliable and have the creature comforts.@@RichardGreigDickson
