When pinion moves from left to right, that is when motor stops rotating, does flywheel also move to left when in mesh with pinion gear? Otherwise how will pinion gear get rotated continuously till it reaches original position?

Flywheel does not move from its position. Flywheel speed is high and it gives rotational inertia to pinion. Because of this rotational inertia pinion moves from left to right in few seconds.
