This dance symbolises and touches on how Fa’afafine’s went into hiding after seeing their brothers & sisters being killed by the settlers & colonisers. This is a piece that illustrates us coming out of hiding and taking space as Queens and keepers of tradition. In a lot of ways this is us owning our existence, no longer afraid of the stigma put onto us by white supremacy.
